The incredible view from the John Hancock Observatory

North America

The buildings of Chicago they make the city even more beautiful from the ground. But it is from the top of these skyscrapers that we can reach the size of one of the most famous cities in the world. USA. We already told here on the blog of our trip to Willis Tower, the one with the glass floor. This time we will talk about John Hancock Observatory.

John Hancock Observatory

It was after walking a lot around the city on a cold Saturday with blue skies, that I decided to look for the John Hancock and its hundred floors Michigan Avenue. I asked some police officers on the street and soon saw the building.

As it was after 7pm and it was dark, I didn’t wait in line to buy tickets ($18 for adults) or to go up. And I had the time and space I wanted up there. The top of the building, which is one of the ten tallest in the United States, has a cafe/bar and a little shop to buy very expensive Chicago souvenirs. I heard that there is a free audio tour there, but I confess that I forgot about that when I arrived and came face to face with that beautiful city, all lit up and I even saw the famous roda gigante to Navy Pier.

I prefer to go to Willis Tower during the day and at John Hancock at night. I tried to arrive at sunset, but there was no time. And for this reason, the photos weren’t so good.

After observing Chicago from above, I went down and entered the huge Chicago store. Cheesecake Factory which is underneath the building. It was crowded, but it was worth it. When we enter there, we have the impression that we are inside a cheesecake.

John Hancock X Willis Tower

If I had to choose just one, I wouldn’t regret taking long lines and just going to the Willis Tower. The glass floor and wall are worth every second of waiting. It’s a unique experience. remember here.
