The 61st edition of the annual Forbes Travel Guide list is out, which brings together best hotels, restaurants and spas in the world! There are more than 1600 properties in the prize Star Award, with four and five star categories, in addition to those recommended. This year, 21 new hotels gained five stars, 49 new four-star and 62 new recommended hotels. So, let’s get to know some of the best hotels in the world in 2019?

Properties are visited by inspectors, always anonymous, who stay for at least two nights and evaluate them based on up to 900 objective standards. This year, new destinations were added to the list, such as Anguilla, Belize, Doha, Istanbul, Uruguay and Tel Aviv.
The biggest winner
The group of luxury hotel The Peninsula Hotels has all ten of its hotels five stars in the Forbes Travel Guide 2019! This is the first time that a brand has achieved maximum scores across all properties. Among them, for example, are some that we have already had the opportunity to stay at, such as the Peninsula Beverly Hills, one of the best hotels in Los Angelesthe Peninsula Paris, an impeccable palace hotel, and The Peninsula New York, very well located on Fifth Avenue.

Brazil
The Belmond Hotel das Cataratas, Located within the Iguaçu National Park, in Paraná, it is the only Brazilian hotel with five stars, achieved last year. Also from the Belmond chain, the Copacabana Palace, a traditional hotel in Rio de Janeiro, received 4 stars, as did Fasano Rio and São Paulo and the Hotel Emiliano, in São Paulo.

Florida
In Sunny Isles, a region between Miami and Ft Lauderdale, the Acqualina Resort & Spa, a luxurious Mediterranean villa facing the beach, was awarded five stars. Meanwhile, in Miami, the Faena Hotel Miami Beach, which carries the Leading Hotels of the World seal, also achieved the maximum score. As is the Mandarin Oriental Miami (an Asian chain that we are a fan of and which has 17 other hotels on the list) and certainly the best hotel in Brickell.

Las Vegas
The entertainment mecca with its grand hotels is also present on the list of the best hotels in the world in 2019. Wynn Las Vegas, for example, won a triple award for its Chinese restaurant Wing Lei and the Spa. In addition, Encore, which forms a luxury hotel complex with Wynn also achieved five stars.

Lisboa
The only five-star hotel in the Portuguese capital is making its debut on the list! The Four Seasons Hotel Ritz, opened in 1959, is certainly a reference for luxury in the city. Furthermore, the Spa was also awarded the maximum score

The British capital has three newly arrived five-star hotels on the list. O The Langham, the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, built in a historic building from 1888, and the Shangri-La Hotel at the Shard. O sofisticado hotel boutique 45 Park Lane, from the Dorchester Collection, is also on the list.

In the Big Apple, the Mandarin Oriental NYC, the best hotel on the Upper West Side, and The Pierre, which has an excellent haute cuisine restaurant, are some of the hotels that achieved five stars.
