The best crepe in Paris

Europe

Continuing my posts written especially for Caderno Ela digital, straight from Paris.

A small door on Rue Francs Burgeois, in the heart of the Marais, offers one of the best crepes in Paris, very thin, light and in the less usual square shape. With communal tables and high chairs facing the kitchen, the first floor is quite cramped, but charming. If the weather permits and you can sit at tables on the sidewalk, even better.

Upstairs, there is more space and less noise. Highlights include the Vosges crepe, with goat cheese, pesto and tomato coulis and the Complète, with cheese, ham and fried egg, also delicious!

And for dessert, the hard part is choosing between nutella or chocolate with banana. Remembering that in French, savory crepe is called gallette and crepe is sweet. The French usually drink cider to go with it, which doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

Creperie Suzette, considered one of the ten best in the city, according to the newspaper Le Figaro, is ideal for a break after a stroll through Place de Vosges, a trip to the Picasso Museum, which is very close by, or a break from shopping in the charming neighborhood stores.
