Suvinil’s color of the year 2023 raises a guiding question: how are we feeling right now? Entitled Orange Calcite, the tone is part of an annual trend study carried out by the brand and is part of the Power of Colors palette.
The research was led by color consultant and creative director Michel Loft, who has been in the position for three years, and has environments designed by art director Natalia Marlucci.
In total, there are 26 colors divided into 5 palettes that reflect social behavior, global and national trends and invite the population to reflect on how colors influence their daily lives.
The color of the year 2023: Orange Calcite

The tone chosen as the main trend of 2023 is inspired by the mineral of the same name. The coloring brings back an earthy orange with the aim of bringing energy of innovation and comfort to environments. As a result, Orange Calcite offers optimism and security at the same time.
After turbulent years due to the pandemic, the brand encourages the public to find refuge through their senses. In this way, chromatic intelligence was used to create an environment that is favorable to emotions.
Orange Calcite is an earthy orange that recalls the tones excavated from the soil by ancestors. Furthermore, it brings new energy with the effervescence and futurism of the 70s.
Thus, it is a reenergized and purifying stone, that is, Orange Calcite balances emotions, combats depression and eliminates fear while alleviating problems and maximizing people’s potential.
It is also worth highlighting that Suvinil’s color of the year 2023 has 100% mineral pigmentation and is part of a limited edition. Its composition has a combination of clays and, therefore, no synthetic pigments are used.
“Suvinil Revela reinforces the presence and power of colors in all spheres of life. It embodies one of the main missions of our brand, being a 100% Brazilian study that translates our stories through colors, as a tool to facilitate the painting journey.
For 2023, we built the study in a more simplified and practical format. In addition to the color of the year, we will have an exclusive curation with five palettes that facilitate the process of choosing a color, presenting this trajectory in an even more autonomous and intuitive way to the consumer”, explains Sylvia Gracia, Marketing Coordinator — Color and Content at Suvinil .

The Power of Colors Collection
The five themes that illustrate this collection encompass people’s current feelings. Therefore, they were titled as: The Exhausted; The Optimist; The Excited; The Connected; and Cybernetics. As a result, they all invite self-analysis that offers a perfect palette for each situation.
“Translating the feeling of the times we live in into colors is a very pleasant and important challenge, as we are in an emotionally intense phase with many changes happening.
Therefore, for 2023, we bring a dash of humor in all areas, from the name of the palettes to the way we present the material to the public. The color of the year defines our needs well.
We talk about an optimistic and stimulating tone that also starts to relate to our reconnection with nature: the terrifying energy of the earthy nuance, with the possibility of reducing our impact on the planet”, highlights Michell Lott, color consultant at Suvinil and creative director of Revela 2023.
The Exhausted

The name of the palette is inspired by the famous meme: “I look exhausted – and I really am”. This is because the fast-paced world with an excessive amount of information has left the body and mind exhausted.
Therefore, the A Exausta palette offers light and light tones, without too much saturation in order to stimulate mental rest.
The Optimist

The transformations that the world has been going through make many people optimistic about the future.
Therefore, A Optimista has happy colors inspired by nature to create invigorating environments. Furthermore, the palette allows for chromatic contrasts that alternate between luminosity and intensity.

On the other hand, A Empolgada is a palette filled with vibrant and light tones that guarantee the perfect dose of dopamine in spaces.
After all, the newly adult Generation Z is filled with radical happiness.
Connected

The famous pastel tones are back. However, this time, they were transformed into the technology palette. Conectada presents light and desaturated colors that seek to slow down everyday life and offer a feeling of organization.
As a result, it inspires a harmonious future!
Cybernetics

Furthermore, it is clear that the metaverse could not be left out of the trends for the color of the year 2023. The A Cibernética palette brings together citrus green and metallic silver, as well as lilac that demonstrate the immensity of deep oceans and space sidereal.
Earthy orange represents the union between ancestors and futurism.
“We are fulfilling a desire that has been with us for some time, to launch, along with the color of the year, our first product with 100% mineral pigmentation, in line with our commitments to be a more sustainable brand.
We know that we have a long way to go towards a more sustainable life and, therefore, we continue to move forward to build a viable future for all people.
This is yet another solution mapped out through trends that identify a consumer need, who is increasingly looking for sustainable products”, points out Renato Firmiano, Marketing Director at Suvinil.
