Strawberry Jam

Sweet cakes and pies

Everyone loves strawberry jam, after all it goes great with everything from toast to very juicy meat. In this post I’m going to share with you a simple recipe for you to make at home, so let’s stop messing around and let’s start with the basics!

Ingredients:

  • 500g fresh, ripe strawberries
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 lemon juice

How to Make and Store Correctly:

Start by washing the strawberries very carefully, removing the leaves and stems, then cutting them into small pieces in a bowl. Add the sugar and mix well, let it rest for half an hour so that the juices are released.

Take everything to a large pan and add the lemon juice to “pull the acidity” and balance the sweetness of the jelly. Cook over medium heat, stirring until it starts to boil.

Now pay attention, after boiling, reduce heat to low and continue stirring for 30 or 40 minutes, when it reaches the desired consistency. The secret is to keep an eye on the color, which should be a darker but brighter tone, so don’t mess around!

To make sure it’s at the right point, place a spoonful of jelly on a cold plate and tilt the plate, if the jelly doesn’t run it’s at the right point, otherwise just cook it a little longer.

To store the jelly there is a trick to sterilize it, it’s very easy but it’s easier to see than to explain, so I’ll leave you with a video I made that shows this.

My Light Strawberry Jam Recipe

I can risk that it is a light jelly because there is no way to reach the consistency of jelly if you don’t use sugar, so to improve it I use half sugar and half powdered culinary sweetener for the oven and stove.

It’s a little more sour than the purchased ones, but you can adjust the amount of sugar to your taste but I’m sure you’ll like it a lot, after all it’s very simple, let’s see:

To eat without guilt

This is a very simple recipe but it works perfectly and kills that crazy desire to “eat something sweet” without the guilt, so let’s see how easy it is

Ingredients:

1 small box of strawberries, cleaned and roughly crushed with a potato masher;
2 tablespoons full of sugar;
2 tablespoons of culinary sweetener powder.

Easy recipe that everyone can make

Cook over medium heat and after boiling, lower the heat to minimum, skim off the pink foam that forms on the surface (I have no idea why to do this) and cook until it reaches the desired point, remembering that it gets thicker. consistent when chilled.

If you want a delicious syrup for ice creams and cakes, just leave it on the heat for less time, it makes a small ramekin like the one in the photo.
