Spinach Cream – Panelaterapia

Spinach Cream

Sauces and Salads

I had never bought frozen spinach before. I thought it was the funniest thing that they came in the shape of polka dots!

Do you know that fresh foods are not always healthier? A nutritionist told me that some foods when frozen have their nutritional potential increased, I found that curious!

This cream is divine (as well as being healthy) and goes wonderfully with grilled fish or chicken like the one in the photo.

Recipe for 4 people:
1/2 package of frozen spinach;
1/2 onion;
1 tablespoon of butter;
1 tablet of legume broth;
4 tablespoons of ricotta cream (or cream);
4 tablespoons of cream cheese (I used catupiry);
1 tablespoon of cornstarch (cornstarch);
Salt, black pepper (I used white) as much as you wish.

I put the frozen spinach balls in a pan and added water (a little, just enough to cover them), put them on the fire so the balls could thaw, added the vegetable broth and let them boil for a few minutes.

I sautéed the chopped onion in butter over low heat until it was transparent, added the cornstarch, mixed well and added the spinach with the water in which it boiled. Using the mixer, in the pan itself, I crushed the ingredients.

I went back to the heat and added the ricotta cream, the catupiry, a little white pepper and a little little bit of salt. I let it thicken and that’s it. White rice, grilled chicken and nothing else!
