To have healthy and beautiful skin, it is important to know what skin types are. This way, you will know what the appropriate care is.
To have healthy and beautiful skin, you need some basic care. There are several skin types and knowing which one is yours is important so that the care is adequate.
There are four skin types: normal, mixed, dry and oily. They vary according to genetics and internal and external factors, such as pollution and air conditioning, for example.
Knowing your skin type is essential so that care is aimed at improving negative points and not highlighting them.
Skin types and essential care
Normal
Normal skin is called that because it has an ideal balance between water and fats. Not too much, so it becomes too oily; and not too little, to dry out. Typically, people with this skin type have smaller pores, a velvety texture and a natural flush.

Despite many benefits, normal skin does require some care. It must be kept hydrated and it is common for wrinkles to appear around the eyes. Therefore, it is important to use a specific cream for this region. Furthermore, the basic care steps are essential: cleanse, tone, hydrate and protect.
Seca
This skin is severely deficient in water and sebum. Therefore, it has a rough and dry appearance.
When there is a lack of oil and moisture, the skin is left without protection, and this can cause wounds and redness. It is common for people with this skin to have barely visible pores, with a dehydrated appearance, easy to crack and prone to dryness.

People with this skin type need to take extra care with hydration. Furthermore, dry skin needs water to restore cell renewal.
The best thing to use for this type of skin are creams and serums, as they have the ability to replace lost water. On the other hand, it is a good idea to invest in an anti-aging product, as wrinkles tend to appear more quickly on this type of skin.
It is important to remember that all skin tends to become dry as it ages.
Oily
People with oily skin tend to have enlarged pores, shiny, sticky and acne-prone skin. This is because this type of skin produces a lot of sebum.

Normally, people with oily skin tend to wash their face many times a day, but this only increases sebum production. As well as using fatty creams.
This skin type is very common in Brazil, which is why there is a wide variety of products aimed at oily skin care. The best products are oil-free, lotion, gel-cream and serums.
Likewise, it is important to use sunscreens with matte effects and that control oil. If you want to know more, see our article: Makeup for oily skin – How to use it and best products.
Combination skin is skin that has all skin types. In the T zone (forehead, nose and chin) the skin is oily, and on the cheeks and extremities of the face, for example, the skin is dry.

They tend to have acne in the oily area and, on the other hand, dry out on the cheeks. In this case, products to control oiliness and hydrate are recommended. However, it is important to avoid using products that cause excessive astringency. Oil-free and gel products are also recommended.
Skin type problems
Acneic
Sometimes, oily skin produces excess sebum, which causes deep, painful inflammation. In other words, pimples and acne. This is due to the excretion of fats by the sebaceous glands, which create protection on the skin and cause these wounds.

This type of skin should be treated directly with a dermatologist. Well, only he can investigate the other causes of the problem, such as hormones.
The products used must be to control oil, have drying action and also moisturize. In this sense, it is important to be more fluid, so as not to clog pores and facilitate the appearance of blackheads.
Sensitive
This type of skin problem can happen to dry or oily skin. Sensitive skin, as the name suggests, is prone to adverse reactions with any substance. They may present, for example, itching, redness, scaling and spots.

The recommended products are those without acids, which could irritate the skin, as well as those with a calming and/or anti-irritant action. Likewise, it is important to use thermal water to soothe irritations.
Care for all skin types
1- Drink plenty of water
It’s always a good idea to increase your water consumption! After all, hydrated skin is from the inside out. The body needs around 2 liters of water per day.
2- Always use sunscreen
Sunscreen prevents ultraviolet rays from damaging the skin and causing problems. In addition to preventing premature aging. It is recommended as the last step in the care routine.
3- Don’t forget the Facial Toner
Facial toner is super important to remove all impurities from the skin and unclog pores, after all, soap and water alone cannot clean everything.
4- Always hydrate
All skin types need to be hydrated. It is a very important step even for oily skin.
Cleansing (with soap and water, preferably neutral), toning (facial toner, which can be astringent), hydrating and protecting (with specific products for each skin type) is the ideal routine.
