It seems simple, however, it doesn’t quite work that way. Physical changes via surgical procedures can generate health risks. The biggest example is silicone disease, or ASIA syndrome, which is the topic of this article.
What is silicone disease?
Firstly, there are many records of women who adopted the implant and felt unwell. Despite this, the Society of Plastic Surgeons has not yet accepted the association of symptoms with the implant, despite many indications.
In summary, ASIA syndrome is an inflammatory and autoimmune disease. It is caused by the induction of elements that stimulate the antibodies of patients, genetically prone to autoimmune diseases, to attack their own organism.

Symptoms of ASIA syndrome

In the most serious cases, like that of the model Malene El Rafaey, the body can create a certain extreme defense mechanism. As a result, it is possible for allergic reactions to different types of foods, environments or objects.
Even without medical consensus regarding the syndrome, it’s best to stay alert and seek hospital help to evaluate the case.
Scientific research on the disease
Due to the recurrence of the fact, combined with the lack of scientific evidence, the Asia syndrome has become a challenge for scholars. The focus of analyzes has therefore been connective tissue after breast implant surgery. In the findings, reactions that can be generated from the procedure are listed.
Despite detailed observations, some cases were left out of the results. Neurological diseases, for example, physical discomfort and muscle pain were discarded from the group of signs of post-implant reactions.
