Acusações de abuso sexual contra Chris Noth vem à tona

Sexual abuse allegations against Chris Noth come to light

News

Actor Chris Noth received accusations of sexual abuse at the end of 2021, and was recently cut from the end of the “Sex and the City” spin-off.

According to HBO Max, Chris Noth will no longer appear in the last scenes of “And Just Like That…”, a sequel to “Sex and The City”. The actor, who plays the character Mr. Big, would appear in the last episode, which will air on February 3rd. However, due to accusations of sexual abuse, this should no longer happen. Noth has also lost his role in “The Equalizer”.

In the series, you can see Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) throwing Mr. Big’s ashes into the River Seine. In this sense, the character would appear next to her during the moment of farewell, as he dies in the first episode. However, the series aired long before the scandal over allegations of sexual abuse took on the proportions it did. Therefore, the streaming platform must edit the last scenes.

In December, The Hollywood Reporter published an article in which two women accuse Chris Noth of sexual abuse. Thus, the first revealed an affair in 2004, when he was still 22 years old. The second victim, however, is more recent, his situation occurring in 2015, when he was 25 years old. According to the first woman, the violence happened after a dinner in New York. After Noth asked to use the victim’s bathroom, she attacked her.

Chris Noth Loses Another Role After Sexual Abuse Accusations

In any case, the protagonists of “And Just Like That…” made a point of speaking out about the case, speaking out in favor of the victims and lamenting the situation. “We are very saddened to learn of the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the victims who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know this is a very difficult thing to do and we congratulate them for it”, commented Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis in a statement.

This isn’t even the first job Noth has lost after the allegations. Due to accusations of sexual abuse, the actor is losing contracts and other work, as is the case with his role in the CBS series, “The Equalizer”. Through a statement, the producers informed that he will no longer be part of the filming of the new season. Likewise, Universal Television and CBS spoke out in favor of the victims last Monday (3). On the other hand, the actor continues to assure his innocence, stating that everything was consensual.

In a note, he denied all accusations of sexual abuse. “The accusations made against me by people I knew years ago, even decades ago, are categorically false. These stories could have been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago—no always means no—that’s a line I’ve never crossed. These meetings were consensual,” he began. “It’s hard not to question the timing of these stories coming to light. I don’t know exactly why they appear now, but I know one thing: I didn’t attack these women.”
