The main cause of fertility among women, scientists have already discovered how polycystic ovary syndrome begins and are one step closer to healing.
Not everyone knows, but polycystic ovary syndrome is the most common cause of infertility among women (and this is not even the only negative consequence of the problem). For those who do not even imagine what we are talking about, this is a problem of hormonal imbalance, which is still in the development of the female fetus during pregnancy.
To better understand the problem and recognize the symptoms of the syndrome you can check this other matter here, also published in the Women’s Area.

The good news for those suffering from the problem, according to researchers from the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research, is that Science already knows what causes the polycystic ovary and the cure for the syndrome may be on the way.
What is the cause of the polycystic ovary?
But before we talk about it, let’s go to some other good news. Scientists have also discovered the possible cause of polycystic ovary syndrome: excessive exposure to a hormone called anti-Mullerian, even before birth.
Those responsible for the research observed that pregnant women with the syndrome have a level 30% higher than normal of this hormone in the body. According to the researchers, this is the cause of hormonal imbalance during pregnancy and is also the possible responsible for inducing the same problem in their daughters.

To reach this conclusion, by the way, they injected the hormone mentioned in pregnant rats. As expected, female offspring that were born after this presented polycystic ovary syndrome, in addition to the delay of puberty, frequent ovulation, delayed reproduction and also had fewer offspring during life.
As the scientists noted, the excess of this hormone overstimulates those of the brain that increase the level of testosterone in the body, which triggers a number of negative consequences linked to the problem.
Curing of the polycystic ovary on the way
The most interesting thing is that by discovering the cause of the polycystic ovary, experts have also managed to achieve a possible cure. As they noted, symptoms of the syndrome ceased in the rats given doses of cetrorelix, an intravenous drug used to control hormones in women.
Scientists are now planning a clinical trial of this drug in humans, which is expected to happen in 2019.

If it works in women, this can be a great advance for medicine, since the treatments that exist for those who suffer from the problem are palliative and help only affected women can get pregnant. However, the success rate of these treatments is still very low and the chances of the patient actually having a baby is less than 30%.
So, did you like the news? Do you also suffer from the problem or do you know someone who has the syndrome? Be sure to tell us in the comments!
