Sago with Red Wine – Panelaterapia

Sago with Red Wine

Sweet cakes and pies

I think it’s been more than 20 years since I ate sago. When I was a child, Grandma Elza made it often, after that, I never ate it again. Until she had one of those sudden urges that are more of a longing than a desire and I did it.

Ingredients:

1 cup of sago

4 cups of water

3 cups of red wine

1 cup of sugar

1 cinnamon stick

4 cloves

Bring the water to a boil in a pan. Once it’s boiling, add the sago and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, mixing constantly so it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. In another pan, add the wine, cloves and cinnamon and boil for 10 minutes. Pour the wine mixture into the pan with the sago and cook until the sago balls are transparent. If necessary, add boiling water little by little. Once the sago is cooked, add the sugar. Boil for one minute and remove from heat. Serve with whipped cream.

I missed it! Or did I kill my desire?
