The fundamental colors are identified by numbers, which are even on the dye packaging: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0. Therefore, the tone pitch number is first, followed by the number 0.

  • 1/3 of white hair: you can apply any color you want, the fundamental color is not necessary;
  • More than 1/3 of gray hair: a fundamental color must be in the tone mix. Therefore, the proportion must be at least 50% paint.

Still, when a person wants to touch up gray hair, they need to use 20 volume hydrogen peroxide.

Use the same brand of paint when touching up your roots, as different brands may have different pigments, even if the numbering is the same.

Also, be careful when using hydrogen peroxide. In short, everything will depend on how much you are going to lighten your hair:

  • Two shades lighter: 20 volume hydrogen peroxide;
  • Three shades lighter: 30 volume hydrogen peroxide;
  • Four shades lighter: 40 volume hydrogen peroxide.

  1. Strand Test: Dye a small section of hair from the back of your head. This way, you will identify if you are allergic to the dye or if the tone suits you;
  2. No stains: to avoid painting your entire forehead, apply a little conditioner around your hairline and wear an old t-shirt to avoid staining your clothes;
  3. Measurements and mixtures: mix the paint with the hydrogen peroxide according to the measurement required on the coloring package;
  4. Division: separate the hair into four equal parts and secure with clips;
  5. Apply the mixture first to the front and then to the division marking each quadrant of hair with the brush, pulling lightly towards the center;
  6. Leave to act for 30 to 40 minutes, or as indicated by each tincture;
  7. After waiting, rinse with the coldest water possible, so as not to make your hair more sensitive.

To ensure a better result when retouching your roots or hair in general, it is advisable not to use shampoos and conditioners with sulfate, so that the color is preserved for longer.

After coloring, it is also recommended to deeply moisturize your hair to avoid drying out your hair so much. This way, hydrated once a week, it will stay more beautiful and with a vibrant color for longer.
