Rihanna is the new owner of a penthouse in Los Angeleson the 40th floor of the celebrity-approved, paparazzi-proof The Century condominium building, which was previously owned by Matthew Perry, who sold it in 2021 for $21.6 million.
Rihanna paid $21 million for the four-bedroom, 9,290-square-foot condo. She has been a resident of The Century since 2014 in a much smaller unit; she will earn more one bedroom, three additional bathrooms and nearly 6,000 square feet (1.83 km) additional features with its new penthouse on a higher floor.

Rihanna’s mansion features panoramic views of Los Angeles, including views of the city, ocean and mountains – visually stunning during the day and twinkling with lights at night.
It includes huge rooms – a living room with two fireplaces and a huge master suite with multiple living spaces.
Overall, there are four bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a game room, and a home theater.. The chef’s kitchen has island benches as well as a table for casual dining, and there’s a separate dining room with glass walls highlighting the views. Four terraces are perfect for entertaining and dining.
About The Century building
Designed by Robert AM Stern Architects in 2010, The Century has been a celebrity hangout with owners including Candy Spelling, widow of filmmaker Aaron Spelling, who purchased the top two floors; Paula Abdul and Elizabeth Berkley.
Many others have moved into the building, including Denzel Washington, a Saudi princess, and a Russian billionaire. The building has four acres of lush private gardens, a 75-foot (22.86 m) long pool, a screening room, yoga and Pilates studios, and a wine cellar.

Perry purchased the entire 40th floor in 2017, brought in his team of architects Scott Joyce and interior designer LM Paganoe to make significant improvements, and listed it in 2019 for $35 million. Perry advertised the condo as his ‘Mansion in the Sky.’
He eventually reduced the price to $23 million before selling it in 2021 to Nick Molnar, the co-founder of Australian company Afterpay. Molnar listed the apartment in late 2022 for $28 million. The Perry and Molnar sales are two of the most expensive condo transactions in Los Angeles sales history.

Who are Rihanna and Matter Perry?
Both Rihanna and Perry are part of Hollywood’s celebrity house-loving clan. Rihanna has owned or rented at least a dozen homes, including two Beverly Hills homes that she is currently renting.
In addition to The Century condo, Perry has owned luxury homes in Pacific Palisades and a 5,500-square-foot (1.68 km) Malibu beach home that he sold in 2021 for $13.1 million.
Best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit comedy series Friends, where he earned $1 million per episode, Perry continued to act in television, film and on stage.
His recent project was a two-part miniseries starring as Ted Kennedy in a Reelz production of The Kennedys: After Camelot. Rihanna has sold more than 250 million records and was the star of the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show. She lives with singer A$AP Rocky and is pregnant with their second child.
