Rice with Seafood

Quick Recipes

I could have called it Paella, but whenever I can I avoid very traditional recipes because there are always the more “Shiite” people who, if you change a “comma” in the recipe, come with a mimimi that the original recipe is this, that is traditionally that, so what? infinite laziness!!!

So, what I really wanted to share with you is that I used one of those KITS to make Paella. And it’s not jabá, see? I actually bought it.

I think that for those who are not very familiar with seafood or don’t want to spend a fortune, these kits are super valid. This time I used the DellMare brand, but I have previously used the Leardini brand (see here) and I liked both.

It is very easy to prepare, following the instructions on the packaging exactly. Basically you sauté onions and garlic, add peppers, peas and tomatoes (I used a can of peeled tomatoes), season with saffron, paprika, etc., add the rice, cover with broth and when the rice is ready you add the fruits of the sea. It’s delicious and doesn’t require any skill!

Here at home we like this rice very red, that’s why we used 1 can of tomatoes, but the most appropriate measure would be just half a can of peeled tomatoes.

It’s enough for about 6 people and I learned from someone from Punta Del Este how to eat it with squeezed lemon and drizzled with olive oil. It’s a show!!!
