Rice Pudding – Panelaterapia

Rice Pudding

Sweet cakes and pies

The most Comfort Food dessert possible! I adore!!! I like it this way, very simple, like rice pudding it should be, no condensed milk or cream (although it’s good too hahahaha), but this version is styled “the way grandma used to make it” and is very easy to make, follow:

1 and 1/2 cup (tea) of water;
1/2 cup (tea) of raw white rice, washed and drained;
2 cups (tea) of milk;
½ lemon peel in the form of a ribbon (without the white part);
1 cinnamon stick;
5 cloves;
3/4 cup (tea) sugar (I used half sugar and half powdered sweetener);
Cinnamon powder for sprinkling.

Heat the milk and sugar and turn off the heat before it boils. Meanwhile, bring the water, cinnamon, cloves and lemon to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Add the rice. Cook in a semi-covered pan for about 15 minutes over low heat, until the water dries. Add the hot milk with sugar and boil for another 15 minutes over low heat, also with the pan semi-covered. Let cool and sprinkle with cinnamon.

In the photo it had just come out of the pan (and can I stand to wait for it to cool?).

Galerinha do “light” do the same, just replace the sugar with culinary sweetener in the same proportion and use skimmed milk.
