Ribs with Barbecue Sauce

Meat

This recipe has been popping up all over the Internet, especially after Rainha do Lar posted it as “outback ribs”. I made it on Saturday, but I didn’t follow any specific recipe, it was on feeling same.
I seasoned a large piece of pork ribs the day before with: lemon pepper, salt, pepper mix and lemon juice.

Barbecue sauce:
1 medium onion chopped;
2 tablespoons of olive oil;
2 tablespoons of brown sugar;
3 tablespoons of ketchup;
1 dessert spoon of mustard;
1 pinch of dried pepperoni or drops of Tabasco;
50 ml soy sauce (shoyu).

Brown the onion lightly in the oil. Add the brown sugar and let it melt, add all the other ingredients and boil for 1 minute. Pass the mixture through a blender or mixer (I used a mixer, but I left a few pieces). If after blending the mixture becomes too thick, use water and blend some more.

Place the ribs in the oven in the oven with the marinade covered with aluminum foil for 1/2 hour.

Wash some potato balls and place them (unpeeled) in the pan next to the ribs, cover with aluminum and return to the oven for another 1/2 hour.
Remove the aluminum, brush on the barbecue sauce, return to the oven and let it brown. I did the same procedure on both sides of the meat.

Served with white rice and green salad. There was nothing left!
