According to a survey carried out by the WHO (World Health Organization), Brazil currently has more than 30 million abandoned animals, including around 20 million dogs and 10 million cats.

In large cities, for example, there is one dog for every five inhabitants and 10% of pets are abandoned.

In smaller municipalities in the interior, the situation is not very different. In many cases, the number of dogs reaches one in every four people who live in the city.
