Presenter Léo Batista’s wife, Leyla Belinaso, died last Saturday (29). The journalist and TV Globo presenter found his wife’s lifeless body in the pool at his home in Jacarepaguá, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Leyla was 84 years old. Initially, the information came from columnist Léo Dias, verified by the press office of the State Secretariat of the Military Police.
In this sense, according to the statement, Léo Batista dove to take Leyla out of the water. However, he soon realized that she was already lifeless. Then, the presenter called Globo, and they immediately called the Rio de Janeiro Military Police. After being contacted by some media outlets, Globo’s communications department lamented what had happened by reporting that she died after suffering a heart attack. However, the PMERJ press office says that the case is still under investigation.

“The Press Office of the State Secretariat of Military Police informs that a team from the 18th BPM (Jacarepaguá) was called to Rua Arco Íris, in Anil, in Jacarepaguá, in the west zone, for a drowning incident, this Saturday ( 29/01). According to the victim’s husband, she was by the pool and he, inside the residence and upon leaving, came across the woman holding a float noodle and with her face in the water.”
