There are only 25 rooms in an area of 8 hectares. This means that even if the hotel is full, it is impossible for guests to feel suffocated. There are several charming spaces, decorated with great taste and in total harmony with nature, always present there.

Of course the Ponta dos Ganchos, the best hotel in the south of Brazil, had to have a spa to match. There are only five treatment rooms, but a very relaxing environment, which allows us to have a massage while admiring the beautiful landscape and listening to the sound of the sea.

The hotel also has a gym, tennis courts – with a teacher for those who need it – and its own vegetable garden, where organic food is grown, using the most modern concept of planting directly at the table.

The gastronomy
In fact, the food at the hotel is very, very good. Prepared and certainly varied in the right way, with emphasis on seafood, naturally. I ate delicious oysters, crispy and very well seasoned octopus and was surprised with one of the best moquecas of my life.
And what about breakfast, already included in the daily rate, with miniature delicacies that change daily? And the best: served at any time of the day! A true morning tasting menu. Furthermore, when we get tired of the restaurant we can also order room service. The sandwiches were totally approved.
Activities in Ponta dos Gachos
In stunning surroundings like this, of course the target should be outdoor activities. For those who are not content with lying upside down on the beach, it is possible to do stand up paddle, canoeing, fishing, diving and, in addition, other water sports.
And for those more willing, it’s worth leaving the hotel to take a beautiful trail to Gancho de Fora beach. It left me speechless and made me feel like I was in Bali, with its big waves and empty sand. A perfect and deserted beach.
The hotel itself offers a guided trail tour, which lasts around an hour, including a guide and ends with a delicious picnic on the way back to the property. Inside Ponta dos Ganchos There are also two other shorter trails where a guide is not necessary.
In addition to this tour, there are a variety of activities planned by the hotel. Cooking class with the chef, boat trip, and short excursions to more distant beaches and/or to the center of Floripa or the famous Lagoa da Conceição.
A hotel with a genuine romantic vocation does not allow children. Fair enough, since the priority is couples, preferably in love. Have you ever imagined celebrating a date with a dinner for two on an exclusive island within the hotel itself? Just book a day in advance and enjoy a harmonized tasting menu that will definitely stay in your memory.
In the warmer months, dinners on the beach are also offered for up to five couples. The soundtrack of the waves is guaranteed.
The bungalows
And so that the lovebirds can date in peace, the bungalows at the best hotel in southern Brazil are totally exclusive and offer maximum privacy. No one hears or sees any neighbors. At least it was like that in my 230 square meter weekend house. So, needless to say, it was difficult to say goodbye to her. It’s hard to remember a room so spacious and so architecturally well thought out.
In a single environment, it manages to be both grand and cozy at the same time. And to prioritize the couple’s privacy, everything there was double, including the bathrooms, sinks and showers. An idea that should be copied by other hotels, it is so sensational.
And don’t think that only the Esmeralda bungalows are top-notch. I visited other rooms and found them all wonderful! There was even a hammock!
I arrived on a sunny Friday at the best hotel in the south of Brazil. I was so excited that I immediately put on my bikini and dove into my inviting heated pool. Not without first grabbing a glass of champagne, a treat duly appreciated by this blogger who writes to you. I will never forget the feeling of euphoria and enchantment in those first hours at the Ponta dos Ganchos.
For those who are used to traveling and staying in some of the best hotels in the world, it certainly made us very proud to know that in Brazil we have a property of this standard: absolute comfort, however, without waste, therefore, luxury in the right measure. Friendly and attentive staff, top-notch cuisine and, in addition, a landscape that impresses and makes us even happier when we remember that we are close to home. Impossible better!
