What is it for

Pink clay is recommended for:

  • Acne treatment;
  • Skin cleansing;
  • Lighten skin blemishes;
  • Keep your skin hydrated.

As it is a mixture of white and red clay, pink clay tends to be less absorbent and lighter than green clay, making it suitable for drier and more sensitive skin. Find out what your skin type is and how to care for it.

Benefits of pink clay

The main benefits of pink clay are:

1. Keeps skin hydrated

Pink clay is less absorbent, helping to keep the skin hydrated. This effect is partly due to the ability of the white clay in the mixture to control skin oil without causing dehydration. Discover more benefits of white clay.

2. Protects from aging

Due to the presence of quartz, smectite, illite, kaolinite and hematite in its composition, pink clay has antioxidant action, helping to protect the skin from the action of free radicals and, therefore, aging.

3. Promotes skin elasticity

Pink clay contains silicon in its composition, a mineral that stimulates collagen production in the skin, helping to maintain its elasticity and firmness.

4. Controls oiliness

Pink clay also helps control skin oiliness, especially due to the ability of the white clay used in its mixture to absorb the oils produced by the sebaceous glands.

5. Removes dead skin cells

Due to an effect of peeling superficial, pink clay helps remove dead skin cells and stimulates their renewal, which can lighten or eliminate blemishes, for example.

How to use pink clay

Pink clay is normally used as a facial mask or in the form of compresses, and must be prepared by adding water to the clay powder until the mixture acquires a texture that is easy to apply to the skin.

Furthermore, sometimes pink clay can also be mixed with specific fruit pulps and extracts to enhance its effects.

Pink clay can be used as follows, according to its instructions:

  • Mask to clean and lighten skin blemishes: mix the pink clay paste with apple cider vinegar and apply it to the desired location for 60 minutes. Then remove the clay with cold water. Repeat the application 2 to 3 times a week for 3 months. It is recommended to use a natural moisturizer after each application;
  • Mask for acne, pimples and blackheads: apply a compress of pink clay with apple cider vinegar to the skin, leave it to act for 60 minutes and remove using cold water or chamomile tea. Repeat the application every other day until the skin improves.

The pink clay mask normally causes a pleasant sensation when applied to the face and should be removed if discomfort occurs during use.

Care when using pink clay

Children, pregnant women and the elderly typically have more delicate skin, and it is recommended to consult a dermatologist before using pink clay.

Especially in case of diabetes, care must be taken due to the risk of skin damage when using clay. Additionally, pink clay should not be applied directly to open wounds.
