Drummer Phil Collins, father of Lily Collins, said goodbye to fans at his last show of his career in London, on Saturday (26).

Last Saturday (26), Phil Collins, a 71-year-old musician, performed at the O2 Arena, in London. On the night of the event, he revealed that it would be his last show. The news that Phil Collins announces his last show came due to his health problems, which are leaving him increasingly weak.

During the performance with Genesis, he remained seated. When Phil Collins said goodbye to his fans, many were emotional, having followed the drummer’s career for years.

During the event, Collins joked:

“This is the last day of the tour and the last Genesis show. I’m thrilled that you still came to watch us. Now I’m going to have to get a serious job.”

After the announcement, Lily Collins, the musician’s daughter, made a point of posting a tribute to her father on Instagram.

“Today marks the end of an era. Witnessing this last show was truly a memory of a lifetime and an event that I will hold in my heart forever. I am infinitely grateful.”

The musician has been facing some back problems recently due to a series of surgeries he had to undergo. So, the nerve damage was severe, and because of that, he wasn’t even able to play the drums in his last show.

His health has become even more fragile during the last 15 days. He developed acute pancreatitis and suffered an injury to a neck vertebra.
