Pears Cake – Panelaterapia

Pears Cake

Sweet cakes and pies

I adapted the recipe to the English cake pan that measures 25cm x 11cm, after all, there are only two of us at home and there are always plenty of large cakes. This cake has a very cool result, besides being beautiful and delicious, it is very easy to make.

Start by slicing 2 pears (remove the skin and the central part of the seed. Set aside.

Grease the pan well with unsalted butter or margarine and sprinkle with sugar, leaving a layer of sugar on top.

Place the sliced pears at the bottom of the pan and sprinkle another thin layer of sugar over them.

Now let’s move on to the dough, the ingredients are:

  • 2 large eggs (or 3 small)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 and 1/2 cup of wheat flour
  • 1 level tablespoon of baking powder.

Beat the eggs with the sugar well (I don’t use a mixer, I use a hand whisk). Add the butter and milk, then the other ingredients in order. Place the dough over the pears carefully and bake in a preheated oven at 180º (as my oven is weak, I bake at 200º). Keep an eye on it, when it’s golden, insert a toothpick or tip of a knife into the center of the cake, if it comes out clean it’s done.

Unmold the cake while it is still hot, as the sugar at the bottom will have melted and will make the work easier. Beautiful, right?
