Raquel del Rosario, Spanish singer and songwriter, recently revealed a surprising story to her fans. Raquel went through a desperate situation with her 5-year-old son, Mael, who was attacked by a puma. To save the boy, the singer had to fight the animal. In two posts on her Instagram profile, you can see more about the shocking situation of the mother who fights a puma. In addition, there are also scars that the feline left on his son.
According to Raquel, the mother experienced moments of great distress with the 5-year-old boy. The accident occurred in August. According to her, she always joked that “one day, my children’s guardian angels would resign due to stress.” Furthermore, while on the way to the hospital, with an extremely injured Mael in her arms, she even wondered “if he would really leave him that morning”.
In the first image posted by the mother, it is possible to see the injuries on the child’s back, which are serious. The doctor responsible for treating Mael also revealed that he would not have been able to save him if it had been just a few more millimeters. He also added that he knew “that his angel had not left, he was still there, holding those millimeters that separated his life from death”.
Accident in which mother fights puma
On the day of the incident, Raquel del Rosario says that her son had told her that he would go to some trees to look for fruit. However, seconds later, she heard the child scream. So, when she turned around, she came across the scene of a puma attacking the boy. The mother says that “she immediately stopped noticing the world”, and to this day says that she cannot understand how she crossed the garden so quickly. Likewise, she talks about the “force that made her repeatedly hit the animal with her fists.”
Then, another animal appeared, however, the singer’s husband was able to help her get into the house, without any further incidents. After notifying neighbors, the couple rushed to the hospital with their injured son. Mael needed emergency surgery. Furthermore, Raquel says that the scene of her son coming out of surgery made her lose all the strength that had made her fight until then. According to her, “fear took over”, and she would never have believed that three days later he would run out of the hospital.
Recovery
On the other hand, the mother says that the cougar needed to be executed, due to the laws in the state of California. In this sense, Raquel del Rosario even experienced a “moment of connection” with the animal’s mother while taking care of her other 7-year-old son, Leo.
From the window of her house, Raquel warned the other puma, the brother of the one who had been executed, to return to the garden with her mother. The mother positioned herself next to her son’s lifeless body, and Rosario and the cougar’s mother exchanged a look of pain that the singer says she will never forget. She left home with her “broken heart, mixed feelings about everything that was happening”, however, at the moment, all she could think about was protecting Leo and her son Mael, “an eternal lover of animals”.
Now, after what happened, Mael has recovered. According to Raquel del Rosario, it was “admirable how he handled it and his wounds healed quickly.”
