Tuia, also known as cemetery pine or cypress, is a medicinal plant known for its properties that help treat flu and colds, as well as being used to eliminate warts.

Tuia Properties

Tuia’s properties may include astringent, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, decongestant and analgesic action. Furthermore, it also has properties that help eliminate small warts.

Mode of Use

Tuia stems are generally used to prepare homemade teas and tinctures.

Tuia Tea

Tea from this plant is great for complementing the treatment of colds and flu, also helping to reduce inflammation in the mouth and throat and pain in joints and muscles. To prepare this tea you will need:

  • Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of chopped Tuia stems;
  • Preparation mode: place the plant stems in a cup of boiling water and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain before drinking.

It is recommended to drink 2 to 3 cups of this tea per day, as needed.

Tuia tincture

The tincture of this plant can be taken to stimulate the immune system, and it is recommended to take 20 drops diluted in water, 2 to 3 times a day, as needed. Furthermore, this tincture can also be used to eliminate small warts, for which it is recommended to brush the warts first thing in the morning and at night, for 1 week or until the wart ends up falling off.
