Every now and then we like to show how to save money with super simple tips, being able to create your own soaps, moisturizers, exfoliants, so, after showing here how to make a lipstick in a very easy way, using other lipsticks you have at home, now we will show you Another way to create your own lipstick, and in a much more fun way, as you can play around, customizing the shades, and this using items that you, of course, must have at home.
Want to know how?
Believe me, there is a much more fun and cheaper way to have lipstick in the color you dream of…do you know which one? Using an old crayon!
Ok, such cosmetics usually contain a lot of chemical substances in their composition, but, as the lipsticks are made with non-toxic crayons, there is no problem, not to mention that they are also basically made with a single ingredient and handled only by you.
Interested? So, see below how to prepare the basics of this type of homemade lipstick and also show some possible variations.

- 1/2 teaspoon of Shea butter

When choosing a container for your lipstick, try to choose something that won’t get dirty or dusty. See below a list of some options:
- Contact lens case;
- Empty tube of lipstick or cocoa butter;
- Empty tube of lip gloss;
- Empty eyeshadow or blush container;
- Pill holder.

After choosing the container to use, clean it and sterilize it well with a little soap and warm water. Then, take a cotton pad, moisten it with alcohol and rub it all over the object. To reach every corner, use a cotton swab.
Leave the container nearby, prepared to receive the homemade lipstick, as it will begin to harden quickly, so it is important to leave the object open just waiting to receive it.
Open the crayon packaging, remembering that there are chalk marks where it is covered with paper, in this case, just place the crayon in a container with hot water for a few minutes and then simply remove the wrap, or just, with the help of a knife, make a cut along the paper and pull it.
(Alert)All parts of the chalk that are not covered must be thrown away, as they may be contaminated with germs and bacteria.(/Alert)
Break the chalk into four equal parts, with your hands or with the help of a very sharp knife, remembering that the smaller the pieces, the easier it will be to melt and, of course, to mix the colors.

Make lipstick using the Stove:
You will need:
- Pan
- Stainless steel or refractory glass bowl
- Something to tinker with
- Small containers (contact lens case, lipstick tubes, cocoa butter or lip gloss, pill holder, etc.)
- Funnel.

Way of doing:
Pour water into a pan until it reaches approximately 2.5 to 5 cm in height, to prepare a bain-marie. Then, place a stainless steel or refractory glass bowl on top.
Turn on the heat and let the water boil, as the steam will melt the crayons, butter and oils.
As soon as the water boils, lower the heat to prevent it from melting too quickly.
Place the pieces of crayon in the bowl and let it melt, this is the time when you will have to make the mixtures you want (but it can be a single color too). Stir occasionally with a fork or spoon.
Add the Shea butter and food grade oil to the bowl, remember that this oil will add flavor to the lipstick, a tip, therefore, is to choose coconut oil, for example. Anyone who wants a translucent lipstick should use 1/2 teaspoon of oil; if you want a more intense color, use just 1/4 teaspoon.
Continue stirring the ingredients until everything melts completely, it’s time to add the optional ingredients (extracts, essences or glitter).
Remove the bowl from the pan (use a kitchen towel or cooking glove to avoid burning yourself).
Pour the lipstick into the reserved container. If you want, you can use a spoon to make the process easier and not get everything dirty, or use a funnel, which will make this process much easier.
Let it cool, which can be at room temperature or in the refrigerator or freezer.

Way of doing:

Hold a spoon over the flame — about an inch away.

Place the crayon pieces on the spoon and let them melt, which will take about 30 seconds. Don’t forget to stir it from time to time with a toothpick.
It’s time to add Shea butter and choose food grade oil. Remembering that for a translucent result, you must use 1/2 teaspoon of oil.
If you want a more intense color, use only 1/4 teaspoon.
Stir the ingredients well until everything melts completely, then add optional ingredients, which are extracts or essences to improve the flavor or glitter to make the lipstick more shiny.
A tip: If it becomes difficult to hold the spoon because it is too hot, use a cooking glove or kitchen towel.
Pour the lipstick into the reserved container, using a funnel, until it is melted, smooth and mixed.
Let it cool (at room temperature or leaving it in the refrigerator or freezer).

Tips:
– Do you want a lipstick with more shine? When preparing, replace the food-grade oil with castor oil.
– Use cosmetic glitter (not craft-specific glitter, as even smaller glitter will be too large for the purposes of this article), which can be found in physical beauty stores or online.
– Use metallic chalks for a lipstick with a more pearlescent effect.
– Create different colors using two or more shades of chalk.
– Add extracts and essences to give the lipstick a more attractive aroma and taste, remembering that you will only need one or two drops of the product of your choice (e.g. coconut, mint, vanilla, grapefruit or tangerine).
