Step by step: double knot
The double macramé knot is made with three strands. While the central strand is stretched, the lateral strands are braided around it. See the tutorial:
- Separate the side strands and leave the central ones stretched;
- Fold the left strand over the central strands;
- Pass the right thread over the left thread that was on the right;
- Pass the strand on the right behind the central strands and inside the arch formed on the left;
- Pull the side strands until the knot at the top is closed;
- Repeat the process from the other side.
Step by step: scalloped stitch
The macramé festoon stitch requires at least two threads to be made, but you can use much more. Typically, the scalloped stitch is used to make a hem, but it can also be done in the middle of the project, for example, in a zigzag pattern. Then check out the super simple tutorial:
- Pull the first strand on the left or right and pull it over all the other strands;
- Pass the next thread around the previously separated thread, looping it, and pull until the knot is closed;
- Repeat the process until the last of the strands;

Step by step: macramé curtain
To make your macramé curtain, you will need your favorite ropes, a rod, scissors and tape.
Start by grouping the threads 4 at a time. Make simple knots at the base and leave the rope at the desired length for your curtain.
Then make the double macramé knot.
Next, continue the double knot by joining the groupings of threads.
In this way, continue making double knots until the end of the length of the threads.
Finally, use adhesive tape on the ends to prevent the threads from fraying.
Your curtain is ready!
