In the middle of Midtown, on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 55th St, a neoclassical building from 1905 that since 1988 has belonged to one of the most luxurious hotels in the city: the Peninsula.

As walking is one of the greatest pleasures in a city like New York, The Peninsula is perfect for that. Therefore, you can do a variety of activities on foot, including having lunch and dinner in great restaurants.
Midtown luxury hotel service
The hotel’s service really impresses from the moment you arrive. All the staff are always very attentive, with a smile in their eyes and willing to help. What a surprise I was when I arrived in my room and found two cupcakes with the blog logo. Certainly a very well thought out and unexpected treat. Furthermore, I also had a beautiful basket of assorted fruits and a nice notebook with my initials.

The accommodations
The Peninsula, a luxury hotel in Midtown, has 241 rooms and suites, in various categories, six of which are ultra-luxury, with stunning views of NYC. As prices vary depending on the time of year, the ideal is to check directly on the hotel’s website.
The rooms have good space, considering a city like NYC and are equipped with everything the most demanding travelers need: a stuffed minibar, space to put your suitcase, desk, armchair with a table next to it, two telephones, several sockets and also a 46″ plasma TV.
O decor
The decor is sober and tasteful and the bed king size, very comfortable. The windows are noise-proof and therefore, despite being in a very busy area, you can hardly hear anything.
The bathroom has a shower and bathtub, bathrobes and slippers, and also high-quality beauty products from the popular brand Oscar de la Renta.
To concierge
The concierge team is top notch! They gave several suggestions of good places to have lunch and dinner nearby, such as, for example, Charlie Palmer Steak, a steak house that opened recently and also Sushi Zen, a very authentic Japanese restaurant. And there’s nothing better than going out on foot to have dinner in NYC.

O rooftop is one of the highlights of the luxury hotel in Midtown, with a breathtaking view of Fifth Avenue. I even stopped by to have a drink at Salon de Ning after dinner and I loved it! The menu features dishes of Asian origin.

And speaking of food, the restaurant at the luxury hotel in Midtown, Clement, is a must-see! With contemporary American cuisine and a varied menu, it is sophisticated and cozy. Additionally, it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I tried the eggs with lobster for breakfast and at night there was more seafood that would leave any aficionado like me drooling.
A starter with salmon roe, super fresh oysters and a shrimp risotto. My husband was from rib eye and he loved it too! Our dinner was harmonized with the sommelier’s suggestions, all of which were very accurate.
O Clement It also has a charming bar, with a beautiful wine list and varied cocktails that can accompany any taste. On weekends, the best option is the brunch served at the restaurant.
Furthermore, the service is impeccable and the view is a plus. After all, who doesn’t like to eat while watching the hustle and bustle of Midtown?

O hotel It also has the Gotham Lounge, ideal for small work meetings or personal meetings and also known for its afternoon tea. But for those who prefer a drink, the bar is also always open.
The surroundings
While we’re talking about buzz, for those who haven’t yet found their way around, the hotel’s neighborhood includes: the huge Apple store, the chic Bergdorf Goodman department store, and also the traditional Ralph Lauren, which has a super trendy bar/restaurant, among others. It’s also worth stopping by the Plaza Food Hall, a food market that you can eat there or take home.
The Spa
The Peninsula NYC is also known for its award-winning spa, which offers a range of treatments of European and Asian origins, open daily from 9am to 9pm.
