In 2017, a year of many controversial trends, several renowned designers and brands, such as Gucci, Tom Ford and Versace, decided to opt for low-waisted trousers, along with the belly showing. That’s right, exactly like the 2000s.
A lot of people hoped this trend would just stay on the catwalks, but that’s not what we’ve seen lately. Since then, several It girls such as Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and several others have been seen on several occasions showing off looks with the piece. And the consequence of this is the rising popularity of low-waisted pants once again.
However, an impasse for this comeback is the moment in which the play returns: quarantine. As it’s nothing new to anyone, the pandemic situation changed everyone’s habits, and as a consequence, many people were gaining a few extra pounds.
