Learn English traveling in New York

My English teacher, Cláudia Strapasson, is organizing a trip to New York that is ideal for those who want to experience the best of the city and improve their English there. I loved the idea so much that I decided to make a post to promote the initiative here on the blog – and she said that it will be an initiative that she intends to repeat every year, for different English-speaking countries!

Cláudia’s idea is to assemble a group of six to ten people to travel by September 17th to 28th and experience the city like a true New Yorker, without tourist clichés and with a lot of learning the English language! And don’t think that it will be a trip where the group needs to do everything together – Cláudia explains that the group will go and return on the same flight, will stay at the same hotel (the SpringHill Suites by Marriott New York Midtown Manhattan) and will take classes together, but There will be plenty of free time for independent walks!

Cláudia explains that the tickets are being purchased by a partner tourism agency, De Paris Turismo, from Bento Gonçalves (RS), to ensure that all passengers travel on the same flight. In addition, there will also be a transfer, already booked, from Kennedy airport to the hotel – for the return trip. Everything to ensure the greatest comfort and safety for the group!

The teacher explains that classes will take place in interesting spots in the city (the High Line, Central Park, the city’s beautiful Public Library, among others) and that there will be tasks as well. “For example, we are going to have a classic New York picnic in Central Park and one of the students’ tasks will be to acquire the inputs that we are going to consume. Therefore, this trip is an opportunity to get to know the city and experience the English language in practice,” she says. And do you need to have some level of learning in English? “Just the basic level”, explains Cláudia.

Find out more about Cláudia in her words:

English has been part of my history since I was eight years old, when I started learning and fell in love with it!

I am trained as a Translator and Interpreter and also in Portuguese-English Literature. I have worked in this area for 30 years teaching people how to communicate in English. I believe that experiencing day-to-day life and understanding more about the culture of the language we want to learn is very important, which is why exchanges have always been and are the main way to stay updated!
