Who is Lexa?

Léa Cristina Araújo da Fonseca, known as Lexa, was born on February 22, 1995 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. She is the daughter of music producer Darlin Ferrattry, and has two younger brothers, Isaac and Isa. Lexa does not have a very close relationship with her biological father, and since she was little she was raised by her stepfather, the musician Cacau Júnior.

Therefore, the girl, who was a big fan of the singer Xuxa, has always been connected with the world of music, and her family had a great influence on her musical career. At the age of nine, the girl wrote her first song. As a child, she began taking singing, piano and guitar lessons.

In fact, her first performance on a proper stage was when Lexa was 16 years old, but nothing serious. Music as a way of life would only come later in the girl’s life, which became a success and was revealed in 2014. Before that, she attended college, but left her studies aside to invest in her musical career.

Singing has always been my greatest desire. I studied because I think it’s important to have a base, to have a place to return to, because if it doesn’t work out, you have to have a plan B. I passed, I’m proud of it, because it was something I really wanted, but more than that I I really wanted to sing“, she recalled in an interview, after her fame.

Personal life

In her personal life, Lexa has been in a relationship with singer MC Guimê since 2015, when they formed a partnership together. The two got married in 2018 and she even adopted her husband’s surname, Dantas. However, in October 2022, after 7 years together, the couple announced the end of their marriage. But the separation lasted a short time, and two months later the lovebirds resumed their marriage.

Lexa’s career

Lexa started composing at the age of 9 and took singing and musical instrument lessons. So, at 19 years of age, she decided to pursue a musical career, and dropped out of her mathematics course to dedicate herself full time to music, with the support of her family.

In this way, Lexa started independently, singing at funk parties in the capital of Rio, when she was known as MC Lexa. At that same time she released her first EP, with just three songs. But that was enough for the singer to be discovered by an important producer who introduced her to Kamila Fialho, Anitta’s former manager.

After being introduced to producers, the singer began to gain recognition across the country with her first single, I can bewhich was released at the end of 2014. The song soon became one of the most listened to in Brazil.

Then, in September of the following year, Lexa released her first album, Availablewith 13 songs in total, 5 of which were singles: Can I Be, Stop Marra, Available, Worse I Miss and Fire in the Skirt. In 2020, the singer released her second album, which bears her name.

Before the fame

As she made clear, her dream was always to be a singer. But before success knocked on her door, Lexa already worked as a secretary in a real estate construction company and also as a clerk in a bakery.

Furthermore, Lexa has always been interested in the exact field, and at the age of 17 she passed two entrance exams, for engineering and mathematics, at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She even studied mathematics, but at the age of 19 she decided to stop studying to dedicate herself to her singing career.

However, she did not give up on her studies completely. After already being a nationally known singer, Lexa graduated from a marketing degree at the end of 2020.

Controversies involving Lexa

One of the latest and biggest controversies involving Lexa involves her husband, singer MC Guimê, who was expelled from Big Brother Brasil.

Recently, he and fighter Cara de Sapato were eliminated from the Rede Globo reality show due to invasive behavior towards another participant. The two are even being investigated by the Women’s Assistance Police Station.

The controversy, in turn, was regarding the singer’s reception of her husband after the sexual harassment controversy on national television. While most people expected a negative reaction from the singer’s wife, Lexa surprised everyone by throwing a welcome party for her husband who was in confinement.

According to information released by Leo Dias, from Metrópoles, the singer was very sad about the whole situation and that’s why she decided to throw a party to welcome MC Guimê after her expulsion. The party would have taken place at Lexa’s mother’s house, in Rio de Janeiro.

However, the singer denied the story. “Just saying that there was no party, my mother had a barbecue like she usually does on the weekends. And I slept practically the whole day.”she revealed on her Twitter profile.

And he continued in another tweet: “The decision for my personal life is up to me, thank you all for your love. I won’t talk about this topic anymore, I’m exhausted.”

New separation?

In the video recently published by the singer, he suggested that the couple would not be in the best moment, implying that the two were separated again.

“Now is a very delicate moment for both me and Lexa, who is suffering a lot. I’m also hurt that I hurt her, hurt her. She never deserved this. She supported me. I sincerely ask for my sincere forgiveness from those of you who felt offended in some way. I hope Lexa forgives me, we had a conversation now, give it time and I hope you forgive me too”said MC Guimê in the apology video after the incident.
