On my last trip to France, I had a splendid lunch at the restaurant Hotel Shangri-la Paris. She had been there a few years ago and was excited to return. Right away it draws attention due to its grandeur, as it is a hotel palace114 years old, with a façade in the Louis XIV style and considered one of the Historical Monuments of France. Additionally, Shangri-la Paris is a five-star hotel overlooking the Eiffel Tower. The service is impeccable and the restaurants are first class. I chose the The Bauhinia, of contemporary French cuisine with Southeast Asian touches, and a Michelin star. Afterwards, I took the opportunity to take a walk around the hotel and even took photos in a super elegant suite hotel in Paris overlooking the Eiffel Tower, with my Brazilian photographer friend in Paris, Pablo!

The Shangri-la Paris is located in the elegant 16 arrondissement, residential and cultural neighborhood in Paris, home to several important museums, such as the Palais de Tokyo, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Modern Art and the Marmottan Museum. Furthermore, it is very close to the sophisticated Av. Montaigne and the famous Champs-Elysées. Five stars with views of the Eiffel Tower
To get an idea of the importance of the Hotel Shangri-la Paris, Prince Roland Bonaparte, Napoleon’s nephew, lived there. The five-star hotel overlooking the Eiffel Tower, which has undergone a thorough restoration process, manages to perfectly blend new and old, French authenticity with Asian touches, in keeping with Hong Kong’s luxury brand.
The sophisticated hotel in Paris has three restaurants: firstly, the French L’Abeille, with two Michelin stars. Then, Shang Palace, the only Chinese star in France and finally, the The Bauhinia, restaurant serving contemporary French cuisine with Southeast Asian touches and where I was invited for lunch.
Shangri-la Paris Hotel Restaurant: The Bauhinia
Named after a flower and an environment full of light due to its skylight, designed by the famous architect Maurice Gras, the The Bauhinia It has a mezzanine and has an Asian atmosphere. Authentic dishes from the continent, not to mention the furniture and beautiful crockery, help us enter the Asian environment. The seasonal menu, created by executive chef Christophe Moret, is inspired by regions of France.
We started our lunch with a selection of Dim Sum, those steamed and stuffed bundles, with different flavors such as poultry, shrimp and vegetarian. For mains, we opted for the Pad Thai, traditional Thai noodles, with vegetables and tofu, and a fish that was divine! And the desserts are also a separate chapter, after all, the renowned pastry chef Maxence Barbot has already visited famous Parisian places. We finish with the delicate caramel and vanilla millefeuille.
Furthermore, the The Bauhiniarestaurant Hotel Shangri-la Parisis also open for breakfast, dinner, and offers an exquisite afternoon tea, with Tea Time by Maxence Barbot available only on Saturdays and Sundays, from 3pm to 6pm (€78 per person).
Details of the Five-star hotel overlooking the Eiffel Tower
After lunch, I took a walk around the palace hotel in Paris and I was able to remember its grandeur. The sculptures, the marble floor, the detailed handrails on the stairs, the chandeliers and also the furniture, in general, give us the feeling of being in a film from the Belle Époque era.
It’s no surprise that the hotel is frequented by famous people and is also one of those chosen during the popular Fashion Week in Paris. Furthermore, it is the stage for popular parties and elegant weddings. Nothing more appropriate, as its environment exudes romanticism. The visit ended in a fantastic suite with views of the Eiffel Tower! With 70 square meters and divided into a bedroom and living room, it has a spacious terrace with the Iron Lady at our feet. Certainly an excellent option five-star accommodation in Paris.
Conclusion
A Shangri la, an Asian luxury chain with 90 hotels around the world, chose Paris to open the first hotel in Europe, in 2010, and soon after, other establishments, in Istanbul and London, where I have also been and was enchanted. So now it’s time to plan to visit the next Shangri-la hotel.
