Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cans of condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoons of chocolate powder
  • 120 g chopped milk chocolate
  • 4 tablespoons of cream
  • 2 tablespoons hazelnut cream (learn how to make homemade Nutella)
  • 1 package of cornstarch biscuits
  • 1 cup of milk

Preparation mode

  1. First, let’s prepare the brigadeiro for the Italian straw pie. In a pan add the butter, condensed milk, chocolate powder and chopped chocolate.
  2. Place over low heat and stir well all the time, until it starts to thicken and come away from the bottom of the pan.
  3. When this happens, turn off the heat and continue stirring for another minute.
  4. Then, with the heat off, add the cream and hazelnut cream.
  5. Mix everything very well until it becomes a soft brigadeiro and set aside.
  6. To assemble the pie we will need a springform pan greased with butter or margarine.
  7. Soak the cornstarch cookies in milk and place them on the bottom of the pan, making a complete layer.

  9. Add another layer of cornstarch cookies dipped in milk and another layer of brigadeiro.
  10. Repeat this process until you finish with a layer of brigadeiro.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  12. After this time, remove from the fridge and finish with chopped cornstarch biscuits. It’s ready to serve your Italian straw pie.
