Ingredients for Paella Leardini – Panelaterapia

Ingredients for Paella Leardini

Quick Recipes

I always saw these paella kits in the supermarket but I confess that I was very afraid of what I would find inside, until I came to spend a few days at my mother’s house and she had one of these in the freezer. I followed the preparation of the Paella that was made with it and I was very happy with the result.

The kit comes with 300g of frozen seafood (squid, prawns, octopus and mussels), a sachet of seasoning and the recipe. I think it’s a good alternative for those who live far from the coast and can’t afford to buy everything fresh.

We decided to improve it and in addition to the kit we used:

  • 1 cup chopped peppers (we used all 3 colors);
  • 1/2 large chopped onion;
  • 2 tablespoons of crushed garlic;
  • 1 dish (dessert) of cleaned prawns;
  • 1 plate (dessert) of chopped chicken breast;
  • 2 cups of raw rice;
  • Parsley to finish.

Saute the chicken breast in olive oil with onion and garlic. Add the other ingredients, leaving the rice and prawns last (to prevent them from becoming rubbery). Add the seasoning sachet and, if you want, a little more saffron, salt, pepper, etc. With all the ingredients and the rice well sautéed, cover with hot water until it’s about 2 inches above the level of the rice and cover the pan to cook.

I don’t even know if this is the original Paella recipe, but I don’t really care about the origins of things, nor the “theory” of food, so this dish is what we call paella here at home. And believe me, it’s delicious!

PS I can’t say exactly the cost of this kit because my mother had frozen it and it didn’t have a price, even the packaging from what I saw on the website has changed (see here), but I searched the internet and found it priced around 10 Dilmas. Very cheap for the quality. I highly recommend it (and it’s not jabá, okay?).

I decided to do a review column because just as I’m curious about some products I see out there, you must be too and I think it’s cool to share.

Oh, it makes about 8 servings!
