Encantadas is the busiest beach on Ilha do Mel. It has bars, inns, restaurants and lots of action. It is located just a two-hour walk or ten minutes by boat, departing from the town of Nova Brasília. Where the famous Gruta das Encantadas is located.

Praia de Fora das Encantadas is almost deserted, despite its bars and snack bars. On its rocky shore is the Encantadas cave, just 1 hour and 50 minutes walk from the village of Nova Brasília and ten minutes from the village of Encantadas.

Long, about 1 kilometer, it has native vegetation and soft, light sand. Its waves are very good for surfing. Not to mention that Praia de Fora das Encantadas offers a food court facing the sea.

Miguel Beach

Access to Praia do Miguel is a 10-minute trail, starting from Praia Grande or Encantadas hill. It is a deserted beach framed by shores covered in vegetation.

Praia do Miguel has fine, clear sand, as well as native vegetation and at the bottom of the sea there are several holes.

Praia do Farol is straight and has fine, clear sand, as well as native vegetation. Its waters are clear and clear, ideal for swimming. On the left side of Praia do Farol are the inns, access to the Nova Brasília jetty and restaurants. In the right corner, there is Farol das Conchas, where there are excellent waves for surfing. It is just a five-minute walk from the village.

Praia de Fora

This small cove is located between two rocky shores, one of which houses the Lighthouse. There, natural pools are formed at low tide, while at high tide, good waves appear. Praia de Fora is a ten-minute walk from the village of Nova Brasília.

Praia de Fora is shaped like a horseshoe and is a surfing spot. It has fine sand and a view of Farol das Conchas.

Fortaleza Beach

Praia da Fortaleza is considered one of the quietest beaches on the island, four kilometers long and practically deserted. There are few inns located in the area, being a passing point for those heading to Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres beach.

It is a 40-minute walk, or ten minutes by boat, from the village of Nova Brasília. It is a straight beach, with native vegetation. Its waters are calm and have soft sand. Ideal for windsurfing.

Big beach

Praia Grande is about 1 kilometer long and is a favorite among surfers, as it faces the open sea, surrounded by hills and is semi-desert. There is no type of construction on its shore and it is just a 25-minute walk from the village of Nova Brasília.

With rocks in the corners, waves that reach up to 2 meters high and soft sand, Praia Grande is ideal for surfing.

Saco do Limoeiro Beach

Saco do Limoeiro Beach is home to the Nova Brasília jetty. With its clear, calm waters and views of the continent, it is close to the isthmus that divides the two parts of the island. It is ideal for sailing sports.
