How to Store Vegetables in the Refrigerator

Sauces and Salads

Well guys, I’m no expert on the subject, but I received some questions like: “How can I make vegetables last longer in the fridge?”, I’ll put it here like I do at home. If anyone has a cool tip to complement the post, I’d be happy if you shared it.

The leaves do not last long, but I think we can extend their useful life a little further with some care. I usually buy a small amount, but I only wash enough for about 2 meals (the rest I keep in the bottom drawer in a closed plastic bag). After cleaning the leaves, I use a centrifuge (or dryer) of salad. It removes all the moisture, which helps to preserve it a lot. It’s worth the investment. I separated some models for you to see:

* Prices from February 2012Once dry, I store the leaves in a plastic container designed for this purpose. Some time ago there was a Rubbermaid action here on the blog and they sent me some products. I became a huge fan. These line pots Preserve More, they actually conserve more. It has a grill at the bottom that prevents moisture from coming into contact with the vegetables. I don’t know where it sells it, I’ve seen some products at Carrefour and it seems to me that it sells it through the AVON catalogue. I highly recommend it.

I imagine that there must be pots suitable for this purpose from other brands, but I don’t know. If anyone knows and wants to leave a tip, feel free.
Another alternative is to store it in common plastic containers lined with paper towel and change the paper every 2 days.

As I said, it’s just a description of how I preserve vegetables in my house (it’s not an advertorial); And you? What do you do with vegetables?
