If you still think that shredding chicken is boring and takes time, you definitely don’t know these techniques. Learn how to shred chicken in less than 1 minute.

Shredded chicken is the base of many delicious recipes, such as pies and even soups; but no one can say that they don’t feel that basic laziness when shredding chicken. Because this tends to be a time-consuming service that involves a lot of basic mess, right?

Well, actually, it doesn’t have to be exactly like that. As you will see today, there are some very efficient methods of shredding chicken that do not include doing the task manually, like grandma’s time (although we mention these more traditional techniques for shredding chicken in the article, for those who are unable to follow the other methods listed below).

Although these techniques don’t even cross our minds when shredding chicken, the truth is that many objects that are part of our daily lives in the kitchen accomplish this task efficiently and in less than minutes. Can you believe?

Your blender, cake mixer and even your pressure cooker are great tools when it comes to shredding that chicken at home, to make that delicious food.

How to shred chicken at home in less than 1 minute:

1. With your fingers

The most common way to shred chicken at home, of course, is using your fingers. You just need to wait for the chicken to cool and remove the strips manually. The problem is that, in addition to the mess, this is far from being the fastest method, although it is efficient in the end.

2. With the fork

You can also shred chicken using two forks. This is also a very common method and even better than the previous one, as it does not make your hands greasy. However, when it comes to time, this is not the fastest technique either.

3. Chicken shredder

Yes, there is a device developed especially for this (but it also slices vegetables for salad, for example). It is manual and you need to place the chicken pieces inside, lock the lid and turn the utensil mechanism from one side to the other.

In just a few minutes you will have well-shredded chicken, although this requires a little more effort than most of the other methods on this list.

4. In the mixer

Now the business is much more efficient. You just need to place the chicken pieces in the mixer bowl and turn it on at maximum speed for 1 minute. If the lint becomes coarser than desired, simply turn the mixer on again for a few more seconds.

5. On the processor

This is also one of the quickest and most efficient methods of shredding chicken. You just need to put the device on the pulse function, as the blades are very sharp and can end up grinding the meat, instead of shredding it. Control the speed of the device until the chicken is the way you want.

This is also the method used in the blender, if you want to quickly shred chicken and don’t have a food processor.

6. Mixer

This is a tip for when you have to shred chicken in smaller quantities. You just need to place more delicate pieces in the appliance and turn on the motor, until the meat is finely shredded.

7. In the pressure cooker

This is one of the lesser-known methods of shredding chicken, but it is one of the most efficient. All you need to do is place the chicken in the pressure cooker while it is still raw, cover it with water and let it cook for 15 minutes (depending on the amount of meat). After this time, if the chicken is cooked, just drain the water.

Following this cooking method before shredding the meat is very important, as it will ensure that it is wetter than normal.

With the water drained, you just need to cover the pressure cooker again and shake it well. In seconds your chicken will be shredded.

Now, speaking of chicken, this other article may be a little too surprising for “lovers” of our everyday chicken: You can’t even imagine what those white stripes are on the chicken breast.
