  • It’s a delicate process, so be very careful. This is because depending on the glue used or objects you use, it could end up damaging your natural nail.

Materials needed to remove fiberglass nail

To begin with, the most commonly used method for removing fiberglass nails on your own is to soak them in acetone. However, although some nail polish removers have acetone in their formula, not all of them work well. Therefore, pay attention to the product you will use, and whether it is the right type of acetone.

Continuing, now we will list everything you will need and the step-by-step guide on how to remove the fiberglass nail.

  • A nail polish remover with acetone (enough quantity to dip the fingertips of both hands);
  • A bowl (preferably glass) that is large enough to immerse your fingertips;
  • Towels to cover the surface you will use and dry your hands;
  • Old towels or rags to clean the acrylic;
  • Vaseline;
  • A nail file;
  • Plastic film;
  • Cotton;
  • Aluminum paper;
  • Spatula;
  • Cuticle retractor;
  • Moisturizer.

Step by step on how to throw a fiberglass one

  1. If a nail is painted, the first step is to remove all the enamel from the fiberglass nail;
  2. Then, file the surface of the nails;
  3. Boil 300ml of water and place in a bowl;
  4. Put some acetone in another smaller container and then cover it with plastic wrap;
  5. Leave the acetone heating in the pot of hot water in a “water bath” for about 5 minutes;
  6. Remove the plastic film and moisten pieces of cotton in hot acetone and then place on each nail;
  7. Take pieces of aluminum foil and wrap them in cotton to intensify the action of the remover;
  8. Leave your nails covered with aluminum foil for about 30 minutes;
  9. Once done, take a spatula and gently remove the fibers;
  10. If the fiber is still well fixed, repeat the moistening process with the remover until it softens;
  11. After removing all your nails, clean them and apply a fortifier. However, in the absence of a fortifier, use coconut oil on each of your nails, as it has antifungal and antibacterial properties.

Finally, a very important tip. Right after softening your nails, the ideal is to cut them vertically, and not horizontally, as we do with natural nails.
