- First, chop the chocolate into medium, uniform pieces.
- Then, place the pieces in a pan or stainless steel container and place over a pan of water, which is larger to avoid contact with water.
- Then, put it on the fire, when it starts to bubble, turn off the heat and stir the chocolate until it melts completely.
To melt in the microwave:
- In the same way, start by chopping the chocolate into medium pieces.
- Then, place them in a heatproof bowl or microwave-safe container.
- Then program the microwave for 30 seconds.
- After the time has passed, remove the bowl and stir the chocolate with a spoon.
- However, the chocolate will not have melted yet, but this is normal, you need to repeat the process until it melts.
- This way, return the bowl for another 30 seconds.
- Remove again and stir with a spoon.
- Finally, repeat until the chocolate melts completely.
Tips on how to melt chocolate
- One tip (via Ana Maria Braga-Globo), which is very important, is that you should never melt chocolate directly over a fire, as it could burn.
- When melting in the microwave, respect the maximum time of 30 seconds, otherwise it could burn.
- Typically, chocolate takes about 2 minutes to completely melt in the microwave.
- When using a water bath, an important tip is not to let the water boil.
- Finally, to melt in a bain-marie you can enjoy the process and put it to melt together with the cream, marshmallow, among other ingredients.
