The main female body types

Female bodies are classified into 5 different types: inverted triangle, rectangle, triangle (also called pear), oval and hourglass (also known as guitar).

1 – “Inverted triangle” type body

  • Tight skirts with tight blouses;
  • Leggings and skinny pants;
  • Chunky necklaces.

2 – Rectangle (or straight) body

These are those women who have practically no waist. Therefore, they have a more rectangular appearance. Generally, shoulders and hips are practically the same measurement. It is a very common body type in women who are taller and thinner, with longer legs. In this case, generally in this case the ideal is to mark the waist so that it appears a little more.

What to use:

  • Loose blouses;
  • Fitted coats and dresses;

  • Loose shorts;

  • Leggings or skinny jeans with shirts that cover the butt;
  • Straight, A-line and flared skirts with little volume;
  • Longer and more volume necklaces.

What to avoid:

  • Belts at hip height;
  • voluminous pants and skirts;
  • Jackets and blouses that end above the hips;
  • Skinny style pants, leggings and boyfriends;
  • Pleated or ruffled skirt;
  • Fitted and mermaid dresses;
  • Low waist pants.

4 – Oval type

This is the type of body in which the waist – or abdominal circumference – is the widest part of the body. These are women who are a little more overweight or who find it easier to gain weight in the abdominal region. Therefore, in this body type, the ideal is to draw attention to the breasts and shoulders.

What to use:

  • Puffed sleeves;
  • Blouses that go beyond the hip line;
  • Shirts with V-necks;
  • Shirts with diagonal or vertical embroidery;
  • Smocks, tunics and loose blouses;
  • Darker clothes;
  • Straighter skirts and pants;
  • Flared and flared skirts.

What to avoid:

  • Low-waisted pants;
  • Slim and skinny pants;
  • Clothes with lots of prints.

5 – Hourglass or guitar type

  • Pieces that highlight the waist;

What to avoid:

  • Pieces that are excessively tight or excessively wide;
  • Clothes with a very straight cut – especially in the case of coats;
  • Very tight pants with very tight blouses;
