Well now you know! If you are just starting off with your Instant Pot, this is one of the easiest things you can make in your pot! Then just freeze whatever meat you don’t use, and you are set!

The only thing is, I cooked meat that was frozen. That way it was able to stay on the trivet without falling through the cracks and no, I haven’t cooked it with thawed meat yet!

HOW TO COOKE GROUND BEEF IN THE INSTANT POT:

Ingredients:

1 – 3 pounds of ground beef
1 cup of water

Place your trivet in the Instant Pot. Pour in one cup of water. Place your frozen beef on top of the trivet. Put the lid on and turn the knob to sealing.
Push the Manual Button, or pressure cook button and set the time for 25 minutes.
Once the timer is done, let it release on it’s own for 10-15 minutes. Turn the knob to let any more steam out.
Take your meat out of the Instant Pot and place in a bowl. Cut or chop the meat up.

You can freeze the meat in freezer bags for up to 3 months in your freezer.

This is the Taco Soup I made:
– I just threw everything in the Instant pot and cooked it for 5 minutes on manual. I used my already browned beef and just cooked my onions with the rest of the soup instead of browning it.

  1. I would imagine the ground beef turned out boiled, not properly cooked, which happens with high heat and pan.
People here will refuse to eat ground beef that's been cooked and not … I don't know what the english word would be..

  2. Sad the fat went to waste! Our bodies need good healthy fat, try to find 100% grassfed pasture raised organic ground beef, I like to thaw 1lb pack in the fridge for 24 hours, then add organic grassfed beef tallow into my instantpot, then cook the ground with some Redmond’s fine sea salt.

  3. I have watched this video a few times to see what I’m doing wrong, Please help me tell me why the fat and stuff is not collecting in the bottom and it’s always on top of the meat and this big blob and it’s disgusting thank you

  4. This is a game changer. This is great for my teenage daughter that is learning how to cook but can't seem to get a grip on cleaning up the kitchen afterwards. TY, TY, TY.

  5. My ground beef was frozen in a ball and was rock solid when I put it in the Instant Pot. I pressure cooked for 25 minutes, plus did a 15 min natural release. When I sliced the beef open it was still red and raw inside. I suspect flat frozen ground beef is best for cooking this way. By the way, I love your channel!

  6. I add butter and never drain the grease. Went Keto and in 7 months I am down to 150 lbs from 185 and my body aches are going away. My brain fog is going away also.

  7. OK I’ve done this several times and every time I do it there’s a bunch of fat and cool I don’t know what it sticks to the side of the round thing of beef. What am I doing wrong

  8. I've cooked frozen and unfrozen ground beef in the 3 qt. pot and it is inbelievable. Delicious. Not too dry and no grease. I cooked a 1 lb. frozen tube of ground beef from Walgreens in my 3 qt. pot. I gave it at least 40 mins. to cook. That worked well. Another time I just cooked it for 20 mins. and then mixed it in an inner pot with other ingredients for another 20 mins. and that was a tasty treat. (It takes longer to cook in the 3 qt. because it uses less pressure, but I can cook enough for 3 or more meals.)

  9. Two minutes of your videos talking about who you are. Have you put that at the end so we can get to the meat of it quicker? Ha ha

  10. Ok. Late to the party. Just tried this with fresh 81/19 hamburger meat fresh. 20 minutes high, self release. Dumbed into my kitchenaid to break 5 lbs cooked burger. Fantastic! From 10lbs fresh made up 7 – 1lb ish freezer bags. Awesome. ❤️

  11. I did this with frozen ground beef and it was not fully cooked at the end of the 25 minutes, not close. so I’m cooking it for some additional minutes

  12. This method works great with any type of ground meat, BTW. (:
The instant pot is so fast and easy. Haven't ruined a dish yet. lol

  13. I have to say that I thought it was… well, I'll just say it… STUPID to cook ground beef in the instant pot… But that was before I found out how easy the saute is to use and how easily the stainless steel insert cleans up! After making some chili, I discovered that the ground beef comes out DIFFERNTLY than when skillet cooked – it was SOOOO TENDER!!!! I'm not a big meat fan, so this is a HUGE game changer for me! MEANING – that I will now use THIS method to cook from frozen and divide for meal prep!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing and making a believer out of me!! ;-D

  14. Thank you for this video. I just got done cooking 5 pounds of frozen ground beef for my lasagna. This worked perfectly!😊

  15. If you have a smartphone there is an app out there that you can scan every single food out there and beauty product that will grace between a 0-100 0 being the worst and 100 being the best it is legit and 100% accurate that breaks down and tells you if it is actually good for you or bad for you and it’s breaks down every kind of chemical and molecule in the food you get it is kind of a guide to go buy to see if what your getting is good for you it is called Yuka I was skeptical at first but it’s actually legit and I always scan stuff before I put it in my buggy and I don’t usually buy anything less than a 80 % grade again the app is called Yuka no I’m not being sponsored in any way it’s just a lifesaver and something I stumbled upon

  16. This is my new favorite kitchen tool! Day 1 I was going to pressure cook a meat https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and potato stew, decided I wouldn't eat it that night so I went with a slow cook so I could go to bed and put it away in the morning. I love that versatility! The sauté feature works great and adds tons of extra flavor to dishes, and I can easily sizzle meats in the bottom then deglaze for some restaurant worthy flavors.Big bonus – you can cook a whole frozen chicken in about 2 hours. Amazing! I've seen a couple videos, haven't tried it yet, but I will soon!

  17. I'm not a big fan of dry ground beef with no fat. I want all the yum left in, so I want to sautee it.
But can you explain for those among us whose kitchen is a college dorm room?
HOW do I use the instapot sautee function to sautee my ground beef?
    (Have you done this?)

  18. I'm almost sorry I ever tried this! So, there I go. I buy a "tube" of 80/20 ground beef which is 3 lbs and cost $15.00 current day. $5.00 /lb, right? So, I toss it into my instant pot on a trivet and it worked like a charm. EXCEPT I noticed a much smaller amount of the resulting "lean" ground beef. And lots of grease and water left behind. In fact, I froze the cooked ground beef in 1/2 pound portions and got 1.75 pounds of the "lean" ground beef or $ 8.57 / lb.! Not so cheap unless you want to consume all the grease and water that drains from it while cooking. Just sayin'. You would think at 80/20, 80% would be lean or at least 2.4 lbs not 1.75. I guess the rest is all water.
