Virtuoso, a global network of luxury travel, revealed the hotels nominated for this year’s Best of the Best awards. All are part of the Virtuoso Hotels & Resorts program, which has more than 1,300 hand-picked properties around the world. In fact, I’m already saying: there is brazilian hotel on the list! So, let’s get to know the hotels nominated for the 2018 Virtuoso Award?

Hotels nominated for the Virtuoso Award
All the hotels nominated were chosen by Virtuoso Consultants and the editors of Virtuoso Life magazine. There are ten categories in total, such as, for example, Leadership in Sustainable Tourism, which recognizes the hotels most committed to the three pillars of sustainable tourism: preserving the environment, supporting local economies and celebrating cultures.
Palácio Tangará, in São Paulo, is the only Brazilian one on the list. The hotel was built on the former farm of the late millionaire Baby Pignatari and is the first hotel masterpiece of the Oetker Collection brand in South America. All rooms and suites have views of the lush vegetation of Burle Max Park. In addition, there is the restaurant Tangará Jean-Georges, by renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, which has just won a star Michelin.

Berner’s Tavern, a restaurant at The London Edition, in London, is one of the competitors in this category. Deserved, as it is certainly one of the most beautiful hotel restaurants I’ve ever seen. Super trendy, there are 200 paintings hanging on the walls, tables, sofas and large chandeliers. In addition, star chef Jason Atherton is in charge of the restaurant, which offers a variety of bistro-style dishes, such as oysters, salads and steak tartare

The Hassler Bar, at the Hotel Hassler, in Rome, is one of the hotels nominated for the Virtuoso Award. Super popular, it’s a great place for meetings before or after dinner. Meanwhile, The Office NYC is located at the Mandarin Oriental New York, a hotel we also love. Access is only via a hidden passage and the atmosphere is cozy and intimate.
