Hotel Le Guanahani, em Saint Barth

News

Who follows the You Must Go no Instagram saw that I was recently at Hotel Le Guanahani, in Saint Barth. Associated with the network Rosewood Hotels & Resortsis one of the luxury hotels most traditional on the island, open thirty years ago.

The localization

It is located between Marigot Bay and Grand Cul-de-Sac, 15 minutes from the center. O hotel There is a transfer from the airport, but it is recommended to rent a car to explore the island and its wonderful beaches. But if you don’t drive, there are taxi services that work well.

To get to St Barth, you need to take a 15-minute flight or a 40-minute boat from St Marteen, which is two hours from Miami. I don’t recommend the boat, as it rocks too much due to the wind. I arrived at night and went to trip all in panic. The plane is very small and the airport is super famous, as it is almost on the beach. But the flight is so fast that we barely feel scared.

O hotel

With a beautiful and peaceful private beach, Le Guanahani offers ideal accommodation for those who want to relax in style. Families are also welcome and there is a space dedicated to children.

There are 67 rooms, very well decorated, with environments that fully match the seaside atmosphere. Each one has a different color that reproduces the colors of the houses on the island.

The rooms

My room was divided into two rooms, living room and bedroom and with a huge balcony. Waking up every day looking at that turquoise blue sea brought incredible peace! It felt like we were on a ship, we were so close to the water. And to top it off, absolute silence. For those who come from a big city like Rio, silence is a gift!

I was welcomed with a beautiful bottle of champagne and was able to celebrate my wedding anniversary in style, in a very relaxed atmosphere, facing the sea, just the way I like it.

The room, very colorful and cozy, had plenty of space and had a coffee maker and a super charming minibar, disguised as a set of leather suitcases. I loved!

The balcony was so pleasant and spacious that I wanted to spend hours and hours there, breathing fresh air and enjoying the view.

Beaches and pools

The swimming pool Guanahani It has a beautiful design, surrounded by palm trees and faces the sea. Pure charm! The breakfast, very well served, in a buffet style, is in front of it. Our day begins with that cruel question: beach or pool for today?

The “main” beach, which is serviced by the hotel, has very calm water and has chairs and tents. Next door, we have a wilder beach, with a stunning look, due to the rocks between the sand and the sea. It has some waves, but it’s always empty and it’s also very quiet. It’s difficult for a blogger like me to stop posing for photos, lol.

It is worth remembering that the hotel offers a series of water sports for the most excited, such as stand up paddle, windsurfing, kitesurfing, etc. Additionally, there are also tennis courts.

The spa

The spa by Clarins is another highlight of the Guanahani. Firstly, because the place is extremely tasteful, with a very pleasant pool – for adults only – that invites us to stop for a while to sunbathe. The spa has a very relaxing atmosphere, set in tropical gardens, right from the entrance and the professionals are great. I had an excellent relaxing massage that I missed.

There is also a gym – very chic, with views of the sea – and a beauty salon.

The restaurants

O Guanahani It has two restaurants Indigo and Bartolomeo. The first, where breakfast is served, and where it is possible to have a very relaxed lunch, almost with your feet in the sand. Bartolomeo is open for dinner and features bistro cuisine with Caribbean and Mediterranean touches.

Sustainability

The hotel has a sense of commitment to the environment and offers tours through virgin forest. In 2012, it became the first hotel on the island to clearly define its sustainability intentions, joining Green Globe, which covers areas of Sustainable Management, Social Economics, Cultural Heritage and the Environment.

O Guanahani It is a beautiful, sophisticated, calm and surrounded by nature hotel, in a very special place. St Barth is a unique island in Caribbean, which in addition to wild beaches, has wonderful restaurants and a French charm of its own. Very similar to what I imagine paradise.
