It is worth saying that the villa is ideal for those traveling in a group, whether with family or friends. Anyone who is a couple or with a small family has the chance to share the common areas – living room and balcony – with other guests. Which doesn’t mean it’s any less fun.

The project

The project of Campo Bahia It is by Espírito Santo architect Sandro Pretti. He created a modern decoration, making great use of the large space and the exuberance of the local nature. Furthermore, fourteen artists were invited – seven Brazilians and seven Germans – to exhibit their works of art. The result is an integration of Brazilian and German identities.

As villas they were built around an atrium, open and integrated with other areas such as a lounge, restaurant, kitchen and swimming pool. The idea was to create a village atmosphere, a meeting point in the center, to bring the team together. And now, the guests are the ones who enjoy it.

The swimming pool is one of the hotel’s greatest assets. Large and beautifully designed, it is surrounded by trees and flowers and faces the bar. It’s so pleasant that it’s difficult to want to leave it.

The village of Santo André

The calm Saint Andrew is a fishing village with less than 800 inhabitants. There are kilometers of beach with huge coconut groves on the seafront that extend from the mouth of the João de Tiba River to the Rio Santo Antonio, further north in the region. On the other side of the João de Tiba river, just a few meters from the hotel, is the municipality of Santa Cruz Cabráliathe main gateway to the village.

The gastronomy

The restaurant, very spacious and with high ceilings, is run by award-winning chef Caio Silva, who makes sophisticated dishes with contemporary Brazilian cuisine. He uses herbs and vegetables from his own organic garden and fresh fish and seafood caught locally and delivered daily. Everything I tried was very tasty, like the shrimp risotto, the whiting and the ceviche. Breakfast is also served there, à la carte with several delicious options.

Guest programs

Anyone who gets tired of the arduous task of staying on the beach or relaxing on the pool loungers all day can go in search of adventure. O hotel offers visits to the beaches of Guaiú, Belmonte and Canavieiras, including the Jequitinhonha river delta. There are also canoe, kayak and stand up paddle. Those who are brave can go diving in corals and trails through mangroves. And bike rides that please everyone.

I had the chance to take a river trip on the luxury schooner Dreamcatcher. It was simply delicious! A maximum of 70 people can fit on the boat and the program lasts as long as the guest wants. Food and drinks are offered and the staff hotel stays on board to serve passengers. More glamour, impossible!
