Homemade Creamy Guava

Sweet cakes and pies

This creamy guava paste, or guava jam, is delicious! It lasts a long time in the fridge and you can do a lot of things with it! I use it to top cakes, to eat plain with white cheese or on toast, to put on top of blancmange or some type of flan, very versatile!

The ingredients are:
1 kg of very ripe red guava in pieces;
1/2 cup (tea) of water;
2 cups (tea) of sugar;
1/3 cup (tea) of lemon juice.

Just blend the guava with water in a blender, pass through a sieve, discard the seeds and mix this pulp with the sugar and lemon juice. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens. More or less 25 minutes. Be careful because it is a sweet that splashes a lot, so use a large pan and a long-handled spoon or spatula to stir.
