Making homemade creams is an excellent option for those who want natural, simple and affordable mixtures to replace market ones.
There is a huge variety of moisturizing creams on the cosmetics market, which have specific functions and with price ranges that vary according to your needs. However, along with ease, doubt can also be associated with the purchase. Creams sold in markets and cosmetic centers, despite promising a lot, are also filled with unknown and suspicious ingredients. In this sense, considering producing your own homemade creams is a great option.
The benefits of homemade creams are enormous. In addition to being affordable, because the ingredients are mostly easily accessible, certainty is still a great ally: everything that makes up the mixture is known to you, and even more so, natural. Petrolatum, caprylic triglycerides, betaine and other complicated names of industrial compositions are no longer a concern.

Homemade body cream recipes
Homemade creams should, above all, provide flexibility and shine, as well as long-lasting hydration. In this sense, the ingredients chosen are extremely important, as each one must provide a different desired effect. Additionally, a pleasant smell is also something to look forward to. The creams below are great moisturizing options for the body. Beforehand, you need to use a kind of scale for each measurement of the ingredients, one part being equivalent to 28 grams.
1 – Ingredients for the cream with greater consistency
The following cream is recommended for those who want deeper hydration, with greater consistency. Easy to prepare, it is possible to combine many different powerful ingredients, testing various mixtures.
First, separate two parts of a liquid oil, such as avocado, olive or sweet almond, for example. Then, three parts of a liquid: it is possible to use only filtered water, or also tea, such as chamomile, and even fruit juices. Finally add two parts coconut oil and one part beeswax.
2 – Medium consistency cream ingredients
Preparing medium-consistency cream, which is not as thick or thin, is a little more difficult than that of greater consistency. For this recipe, you will need three parts of a liquid oil, like the examples in the first cream, and ten parts of a liquid. You also need one part beeswax and three parts coconut oil. Finally, there will also be two parts of cornstarch and five parts of honey. Honey is optional, but it helps to homogenize the ingredients.
3 – Soft consistency cream ingredients
The soft cream is the most difficult to make, as homogenizing the ingredients takes longer and is more complicated. Therefore, for those who are still new to preparing homemade creams, it is interesting to opt for the production of a cream with a greater consistency.
In the soft consistency cream recipe, you will need four parts of liquid oil, fifteen parts of liquid, four parts of coconut oil and one part of beeswax. Add four parts cornstarch and five parts honey. In this case, it is recommended to also add aloe vera juice, which helps to homogenize the ingredients, as well as a few drops of essential oil.
Preparation of the body cream
Initially, consider measuring all the ingredients on a kitchen scale, so that the measurements you choose are all correct.

- The first step is to melt all the ingredients, except the chosen liquid and cornstarch, on a stove or in a microwave.
- Then the liquid. In a pan, heat the liquid until it practically reaches the boiling point, or just hot enough.
- Once done, pour all the liquid into a food processor or blender, whichever you prefer. The main cover must be closed, but the inner one must remain open.
- While you beat the liquid, pour the rest of the mixture of previously melted ingredients into the water. Attention: the mixture should not be completely homogeneous the first time. The ingredients will come off the blades and fly through the processor or blender, and each time you have to turn off the device and scrape the sides and center, bringing together the mixture. This process must be repeated at least five times, which is when the lotion will stop coming off and take on the appearance of a cream.
- When this happens, turn off your processor or blender, remove the lid and place the mixture in the freezer for a few minutes. After this time, mix everything again. This process must also be repeated a few times, until everything appears to be well joined. After a few hours, your cream should be ready!

Even though it may seem like a dubious mixture, the combination of avocado and egg is valuable for skin care. This is because avocado is rich in fatty acids capable of protecting the skin, being polyunsaturated and monounsaturated, responsible for keeping the dermis moist, soft and healthy in appearance, in addition to preventing inflammation and sun damage. The egg, in turn, has fat and cholesterol in its yolk, which helps treat damaged skin and prevents wrinkles.
You will need half a ripe avocado and a raw egg. To prepare, mash the avocado until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous paste. Then add the egg until the mixture acquires a creamy consistency. You can even use the blender. Ready! Now just apply, which should be done on the slime face. The cream should be applied at night and washed off the next day. You can use it twice a week, storing it tightly covered in the refrigerator.
2 – Coconut oil and honey cream

In this sense, the combination of coconut oil and honey promotes greater hydration among the homemade cream options. Coconut oil has a pleasant smell, softens the skin and is full of antioxidant properties, while honey has antibacterial action.
You will need half a cup of coconut oil, about 100 g, and 3 tablespoons of honey, or 75 g. Gently mix the ingredients in a bowl and heat the mixture in a microwave until it acquires a liquid consistency. Let it cool down. When applying, place the cream on your fingertips and then on your face, in circular movements. Again, the cream should sit overnight and only be washed off in the morning. The mixture needs to be stored in a plastic container and it is not necessary to heat it after each use.

The orange, yogurt and saffron cream is excellent for those who want to reduce the appearance of blemishes on their face. This is due to the fact that the yogurt, saffron and also lemon juice used have whitening properties, and are also moisturizing, which together with the orange form a cream that is very suitable for more mature skin.
You will need orange zest, half a cup of natural yogurt (100g), 1 spoon of lemon juice (5ml) and 1 spoon of turmeric powder (15g). Mix everything until it reaches a creamy and homogeneous consistency and then apply a thin layer to a previously cleansed face. After 15 minutes, rinse thoroughly. The cream should not remain on the skin overnight because of the lemon juice, which can stain and irritate.
