Ritual for home psoriasis treatment

Some home treatments for psoriasis can be done by following 3 simple steps, which include:

1. Sea salt bath

Sea salt has microminerals that alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis, such as itching or flaky skin, as well as being relaxing, which helps reduce stress, which is also one of the triggers for the disease.

Ingredients

Preparation mode

Dissolve the salt in hot water and after the salt is completely dissolved, add cold water until the temperature is lukewarm. Sprinkle this water on the body, especially on the affected areas, leaving it to act for a few minutes. If possible, soak in the bathtub with sea salt for 15 minutes.

Bathing should be done once a day, without using soaps, shampoos or any other product in the water. Just water with salt.

After bathing, you should apply moisturizer to your skin, recommended by your dermatologist, to avoid drying out your skin.

2. Smoke tea

Fumaria is a medicinal plant that has anti-inflammatory and calming properties, especially due to the presence of fumaric acid esters in its composition, which help to regenerate the skin and has been widely used in skin problems such as scabies, urticaria and psoriasis.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried and chopped smoked smoke;
  • 1 cup of water.

Preparation mode

Boil the water, turn off the heat and add the boiled water to the cup containing the smoker. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Strain, wait for it to cool and drink 1 to 3 cups a day to alleviate the discomfort of psoriasis, for a maximum of 10 days of treatment.

Another way to use this medicinal plant is to make a fumária poultice, prepared as a tea using the fumária leaves and applying it to the affected skin, using sterile gauze,

Fumaria tea should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women, or by people who are allergic to this medicinal plant, glaucoma, epilepsy or stomach problems.

3. Calendula poultice

The calendula poultice prepared with the medicinal plant Calendula officinalishas healing and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a good home treatment option to alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis.

Ingredients

Preparation mode

Mash the calendula flowers in a clean, dry container, and then apply to the affected skin area, leaving it to act for 15 to 20 minutes. After this period, wash your skin with running water and let it dry naturally.

It is recommended to apply the moisturizing cream recommended by your doctor after applying the calendula poultice.

4. Saffron ointment

In addition to following the steps above, it is also recommended to use saffron ointment, which can be made in compounding pharmacies at a concentration of 1g of saffron, under medical advice.

The curcumin present in turmeric reduces the number of CD8 T cells and parakeratosis plaques that are related to psoriasis, thus improving the appearance of the skin in the injured area. In addition to using this ointment, it is also recommended to consume 12g of saffron with meals daily.

5. Copaiba oil

Applying a little copaiba oil or liquid petroleum jelly daily to the lesions, placing a small amount of the oil on the affected skin area at least 3 times a day, also helps in the treatment of psoriasis because this way, the skin becomes more hydrated and the crusts less evident. However, copaiba oil should not be used by children, or by pregnant or breastfeeding women.
