I went to meet the new Meats burger restaurant, in São Paulo, in the neighborhood of Gardens. Success in Pinheiros since its inauguration – and winner of the title of Best gourmet burger in São Paulo for the Eating and Drinking at Veja SP – under the command of chef Paulo Yoller, it now arrives in the most sophisticated neighborhood in the city.

With a modern atmosphere, reminiscent of New York restaurants, the house has two floors, tiled walls, large fun illustrations of cows, and lots of aluminum.

The bright red sign immediately catches the attention of anyone passing through Alameda Lorena.

On the menu, varied and exclusive options from Meats Jardins, among them, Smoked Cabrapeño, burger, with jalapeño pickles, smoked tomatoes and feta cheese (R$31); Garden, hamburger, dry curd, sprouts, bacon and burnt lemon vinaigrette (R$30); and Zoiudo, burger, organic egg with soft yolk, plated asparagus, garlic confit and bacon (R$30).

I had the cheeseburger with caramelized onions and mustard and loved it; very tasty! It can be seen that the chef understands the subject. Paulo Yoller started cooking from an early age and worked at the renowned Fasano and La Tambouille. He fell in love with meat, worked in a butcher shop, where he learned how to bone an ox, gained experience with cuts and learned how to choose the best pieces. He worked at another restaurant specializing in the delicacy, Butcher’s Market, where he began creating his own beef and red burgers, with high quality products and the house ended up winning the title of best in its category in the edition Eating & Drinking at Veja SP from 2011.

The meat used is ground in-house and the sauces are also made in the restaurant. But not just hamburger lives in Meatsthere are several other sandwich options on the menu, such as Surfing Bacon (a version of lobster roll, traditional American sandwich), with sautéed crayfish, bacon, jalapeño pickles, accompanied by garlic butter, on a hot dog bun (R$29); It is Meatlessvegetarian option, mix of sautéed mushrooms, gremolata and Swiss cheese (R$29).

And also, a variety of snacks in addition to sandwiches, such as Havana’s Cob, an ear of sweet corn, with smoked aïoli, Serra do Salitre cheese and a soft egg yolk, skewered on a round-tipped screwdriver (R$ 18). And for those who can’t do without a dessert: Tá Verde, spoon brigadeiro with jambu cachaça (R$ 10), look what an interesting mix!

Anyone who is a burger fan cannot miss out on the Meats, a sophisticated snack bar where the most famous sandwich in the world is made creatively and with care.
