Four Seasons Hotel Ritz – one of the best hotels in Lisbon

Upon entering the imposing building designed by architect Porfírio Pardal Monteiro, we come across the sumptuous and spacious lobby, with its replicas of 18th century furniture. Also impressive are the works of contemporary Portuguese art, which are part of one of the largest private art collections in the country. Not to mention the mega flower arrangements that are absurdly beautiful and tasteful. That is, a luxury hotel in Lisbon which impressed us from the moment we arrived.

The rooms

There are 282 rooms and suites – divided into a ten-story building – and renovated by the design duo Artur Miranda and Jacques Bec. The views can be of Eduardo VII Park, São Jorge Castle, the historic area of the city, the Tagus River and the 25 de Abril bridge. The decor remains classic, maintaining the chairs and rugs, but with modern and colorful touches, such as the bedside table and the bed.

My room, category Deluxe Park View, was 49 m², with a king size bed, desk, TV, a chaise and another small table with a chair. In other words, accommodation very well equipped to receive the most demanding guests, with several sockets and perfect internet access, something essential these days, among other things such as a coffee maker and minibar. The bathroom, all marble, had bathrobes and a bathtub.

As would be expected in a five star hotel in Lisbon, The staff are very friendly and are always willing to help, especially the conciergewith great tips about the city, and ready to solve last-minute problems and in several languages.

The gastronomy of one of the best hotels in Lisbon

A rich breakfast is served in the traditional Varanda restaurant, led by starred French chef Pascal Meynard. I had the chance to have lunch there on a Sunday too and I loved it! The buffet layout pleases everyone with its variety of salads and savory dishes, not to mention the appetizing sweets and cheese table. It’s impossible not to want to try more than one dessert. Exactly what you expect from one of the best hotels in Lisbon. Furthermore, the restaurant has a pleasant outdoor area, with some tables, and, as a bonus, a view of Parque Eduardo VII.

In addition, there is also the elegant Ritz Bar, ideal for a drink before or after dinner. Another gastronomic tip is the Japanese Kabuki, which is not part of the hotel, but is located inside Galerias Ritz, which has direct access to the Four Seasons Lisboa. Originally from Madrid, a reference in the Spanish capital for decades, it offers an experience of Japanese haute cuisine.

THE CURE star

Led by young chef Pedro Pena Bastos, who makes contemporary and original Portuguese cuisine, the restaurant has a Michelin star and offers three tasting menu options, in addition to à la carte. The intimate and elegant environment was designed by Miguel Câncio Martins, with an open kitchen and modern chandeliers, which look like a work of art. Open only for dinner, chef Pedro Pena Bastos works with small local suppliers, and favors seasonal ingredients to create his dishes. Read my full review of my gastronomic experience at CURA here.

And thankfully, after all the eating, the hotel has a super gym, very well equipped, and with well-trained professionals, as well as yoga and pilates classes and also a 400-meter running track. In addition, the fitness center It’s on the top floor and offers that stunning view we talked about up there.

SPA and conclusion

In fact, the SPA is also worth a visit. In addition to various treatments – from relaxation to aesthetics – it offers an indoor pool with several sun loungers around it, ideal for those who want to relax, read a book, whether on paper or on a tablet and rest, whether from a day of work or sightseeing. . Additionally, there is also a heated outdoor pool.
