The change in these paradigms began in the 1990s, with women taking on the roles of breadwinners and heads of the family. In this sense, advertising is aimed at women, when the purchasing decision leaves a male core and is aimed at women. This reduction in marital hierarchy began to materialize at the end of the 20th century.
As a result of this, the scenario in Brazilian families begins to change. By the way, according to data from IBGE (2015), Brazilian women are not only having children later, but are responsible for 87% of families. Therefore, households headed by women increased by 67% between 2010 and 2014.
Therefore, with more active participation, female empowerment becomes the target of discussions across all communication channels.

Empowerment and recognition of women

Empowerment is closely linked to the recognition of women, this is one of its greatest principles, a struggle to recognize gender equality and see women as agents, part of society, who can act in any area, express their opinions and decide which path to follow.
Recognition also aims to seek freedom granted to man, such as the choice to have children or not, marry or not, become politically involved or not.
Discussing female empowerment is always challenging patriarchal ideology and machismo. It is to instigate, inform and welcome women, so that they can seek material resources to empower themselves, recognize their place in society and in many cases, transform a precarious condition, based on isolation, aggression and abuse.
And first of all, recognize that gender inequality is not only present in interpersonal relationships, but rooted in social consistency.
