Facial gymnastics, what is it? Benefits and movements

Beauty

Facial gymnastics leaves the skin on your face firm and healthy, preventing wrinkles and expression lines if done once a day. Say goodbye to botox!

Exercising to have a healthier lifestyle, in addition to making your body look better, is something that everyone has done at least once. However, there is no gymnastics just for the body. You can also do facial gymnastics to improve expression lines on your face.

Many women, as they age, become more concerned about the appearance of wrinkles and signs of aging on their face and neck. Therefore, several things in everyday life can influence this. For example, too much exposure to the sun without sunscreen, pollution, genetics and carelessness with your skin are serious factors that lead to sagging skin in general.

However, there is no need to spend thousands of reais on expensive aesthetic procedures, such as botox, plastic surgery and lasers, in search of a rigid facial harmonization. Basically, you can save a lot and still make your skin healthier and firmer by doing about 10 minutes of facial gymnastics a day.

Facial gymnastics

Gymnastics began to become known in recent years, being a procedure that began to gain fame in the city of London, in the United Kingdom. With celebrities joining the cause, success began. Many have said that they would rather practice facial gymnastics than undergo botox procedures again.

Because they are very invasive, procedures such as plastic surgery and botox on the face can not only leave the skin firm and in place. Basically, it can also change the appearance and certain angles of the person’s face very explicitly.

Benefits

Just as we exercise the muscles in other parts of the horn, such as legs, glutes, arms and abdomen, it is also correct and healthy to exercise the muscles of the face. Just like the rest of the body, they also become flaccid if not exercised.

Therefore, facial gymnastics works to leave the facial muscles in place. In short, by moving repeatedly and for around 10 to 20 minutes, once a day, blood circulation in the face area improves, allowing greater oxygenation – which prevents skin aging.

Furthermore, contrary to what some people assume, this exercise does not have the reverse effect of making the skin more stretched and causing it to sag and wrinkle more. Therefore, the more you exercise a muscle, the firmer it becomes.

In general, facial gymnastics has no age contraindications. So, anyone can practice. Furthermore, it is increasingly recommended by dermatologists and beauticians for people over 30 years of age.

How to do facial gymnastics

Now that you know the benefits of facial gymnastics, let’s learn how to do it. Don’t worry, you don’t have to pay anyone for this. Knowing the movements that you can practice at home, the process is also great for your wallet.

Before gymnastics

First of all, set aside a little time of 10 to 20 minutes or so to sit in front of a mirror and relax. However, there is no need to worry about this, because if you already know what the facial gymnastics movements are, you can do it while you are stuck in traffic – it is actually very relaxing physically and mentally.

So, next you need to wash your face with facial soap or micellar water to remove all dirt and impurities from the skin. Also, wash your hands, as you may want to gently pat your face to relax your muscles before you begin. In fact, facial massage, in which you use your hands to massage your face, is also welcome along with gymnastics.

Facial gymnastics movements

Firstly, it’s good to know that facial gymnastics exercises are divided by areas of the face as well. You can start by going from the eyes to the neck area.

Eyes

Avoid the famous crow’s feet the easy way.

  1. Open your eyes wide;
  2. Alternate between squeezing them, closing them tightly, and opening them again;
  3. Do this 5 times in a row.

Cheeks

  1. Purse your lips;
  2. Raise your cheekbones, so that it will look like you are squinting your eyes, but you are not;
  3. Repeat 15 times.

Boca

  1. Place your lips forward;
  2. Contract them by making a forced pout;
  3. Do the movement 15 times.

Neck

The neck also suffers from sagging skin and wrinkles, but facial gymnastics can help.

1. For this you will need your hands. Make sure they are clean.
  1. Close your mouth, leaving the upper and lower teeth almost meeting, without forcing;
  2. Leave your lips very little open, almost touching;
  3. Place your tongue on the roof of your mouth;
  4. Finally, place both hands in fists on the underside of your chin and, with little force, try to open your mouth. This way, your hands will prevent your teeth from moving too far apart and your mouth from opening wider.
  5. Count to 30 by doing this exercise just once.
2. Face and neck
  1. Smile very brightly to the sides, so that your neck is forced by the smile;
  2. Place your tongue on the roof of your mouth, right back, counting to 10;
  3. Return your tongue and smile normally to the count of 6;
  4. Repeat the exercise five times.
